Anyone ever do a Canadian and US CPA? Is there ever a good reason to do so outside of transferring into audit across the countries?

I did Canadian CPA and work at big 4 in the US. As long as you have either US or Canada you are fine.

I did Canadian and I first worked at a small firm. I agree with EY1. You'll be fine as long as you have either one.

In seeking to advance beyond an impending permanent burnout spinning wheels at lower levels, how does one best acquire a top position, say, Director, or apply their skills in a way that’s fulfilling again? Pivot is such a different kind of advancement, its not climbing or moving laterally in a game of chutes and ladders; its more redefining what it means to work with the guts and passion. With a company lead whose mind is out of the game and ready to retire and move on, how do I get his job?

My current company made it to IPO, and I’m thinking about leaving to join a startup (things are simply too corporate and bureaucratic now - I’m bored, underutilized, and feel like I’ve hit a career growth ceiling). Have any of my fellow corporate wine professionals made their way onto Fishbowl yet? 🍷

Hello everyone, I have an initial screen with a recruiter this week for a role on the AWS ISV partner sales team. The title indicates it’s a “senior manager” level which would be a step down from where I am now (Director), but I’m willing to have the conversation since I’m very interested in the company. What level can I expect this to be at (I’m not familiar with the L5s, L6s etc. leveling), what salary range is reasonable for that level (OTE, base and commissions)? I’m in NYC/10 YOE.
