Hi all, recently a recruiter from Amazon reached out for an SDE 2(2+ years of exp. required) role and I'm a recent CS grad. I gave the OA (which was extremely difficult w/ 99% cut-off) and other tasks related to the OA. A few hours back, I got a call from the recruiter that I had cleared the assessment and tasks and said that they are looking for 2+ years of exp. I said I'm open to the SDE1 role and said she'll ask her colleagues. Idk what to expect now 😥 Amazon Amazon India

I must be the only one seeing the second part of the post where he has the skills but wasn't able to articulate during the interview 🤔. I guess no one has given you a shot at a project to improve your reading comprehension 😇
M1 uhm yea it was. He was asking have you been turned down for not having the skills. I said yes because I get turned down constantly networking for roles (as SM1) is suggesting but cant get them because I lack the skills. To address SM1’s point, I always say I want to learn it but that still doesn’t help because yeah, I’m competing with 450k people and someone out of that group already has the skills needed.
I know this is a common thing to say, but look at it from my perspective for a minute.
I don’t care about you, beyond what you can for for me RIGHT NOW, unless you give me a compelling reason to. There’s 450,000 other people in Accenture, and there’s a pretty good likelihood that one of THEM can do what I need right now.
If an analyst or consultant bothers to send me an email that says. “Hey, I know you need skill X. I don’t have it, but I’d like to learn it on your project”, then 90% of the time I will take that person.
But if you are waiting for TFS to give a rodents behind about your career goals, you’re gonna have a bad time. TFS is for people with no networking skills. TFS candidates are ALWAYS my last resort for staffing.
Just... find what you want to do, find out who is staffing that role, and just ASK fair the position. I hate interviews too. I can teach pretty much any process or technology, but I am not going to bother unless you ask
@A1, completely not what OP was asking
@SM1 (OP Here): I totally get the world (and my job) really doesn’t care about me, only what it can get out of me. But to your point, during an interview I had mentioned that I have exposure and experience for a particular role, but then found out later that they wanted someone with “more experience”. It is what it is at this point. I’m pretty introverted so I’m doing my best on the networking part (I’ve made some solid connections, but I’m still pretty new to my firm).
Also, what does TFS stand for?
