Hi Fishes, Right now I'm bursting my brains to make a decision which company to join and request your help. I have an offer from tcs for 13.5LPA and nagarro for 18LPA both for the role of associate project manager. I have been a lead at infosys with 8yoe. Keeping in mind that this is the first time i will be a manager please suggest which company is best to learn and secure as the global recession has already begun. TIA #nagarro #tcs Tata Consultancy Infosys Nagarro

I definitely did. My first project deeply affected my confidence and made me believe I hated consulting. Manager was ineffectual, temperamental, and condescending. I felt like I didn’t have any real support and guidance. In spite of it, I still came out strong all considered because the partner seemed to understand that several wrenches were thrown in to the mix and the manager was not particularly good.
But subsequent projects were much better managed. Currently love the dynamic between my team and I feel much more capable of managing problems that arise. Things simply make sense and even when there are challenges, we work through them reasonably rather than spin wheels. And I’m more accustomed to proactively solving problems and finding effective tactics to make projects easier.
It can get better. If it sucks, it may be worth it to find another project.
Absolutely, I had a complete dumpster fire of a project and couldn’t do anything right to save my life. Then to top it all, I ended up having to do the next phase (on a topic I didn’t know) because everyone else left and I had no choice (I was literally the last choice). I knew I was screwed. Did amazingly well and even the high ups commented how they literally saw a “gear shift”.
Bad projects happen to all of us. Don’t let it get to you.
Thank you. And to hear it from a Principal is more impactful than you could know.
Oh yes. My first project here was a nightmare even though I did everything right, mostly because the PM was incapable and insecure. Next project was the complete opposite. People liked my work and we gelled well as a team. So, in short, definitely possible!
