Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
I got laid off from my accounting/consulting firm in January and have since been taking a class related to my industry but from a tech angle. I prefer to leave consulting but could stay off the work and work life balance were better. I signed up for this class thinking hiring woods be soft until midyear give or take just wish the class finished. I look on this app and it seems everyone is hiring. Am I missing the boat by not being in a full throttle job search now?
I often see posts about people getting 350K exit or 450K or more in FAANG. Are those strategy folks from Big 4 or are there cyber folks too getting these exits ? I am making close to 200k as M3 in cyber . Not able to anything that would pay more than this in non-consulting ? What roles should I target ?
Going from a federal consulting role to a new job with 50% travel. Any tips for a newbie road warrior? I’m a little nervous for being gone that often (20s, live with SO, no kids)
Just got an offer for an account supervisor position- automotive luxury at a full service agency in NYC for $85K. I feel like that’s low considering I have 4.5 years of experience. Thoughts? Need to send a response ASAP.
How long does it take to get your passport back after successful h1b visa stamping in the Mexico City consulate. Same company. Same position. I’m a Mexican citizen btw. Thanks!
So why is it that a company always to make the mistake of hiring incompetent leadership folks?

Was unsuccessful recruiting for top consulting firms during my MBA. I need that money! What is the best approach to landing an interview post MBA? Referral?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Guy behind me in the group 1 line to board the plane - "are you group 1?" - no asshole, I'm just standing here to be a total inconvenience to you. STFU and go to your exit row seat.
Deloitte OCM laid off consultants and analysts. A recruiter contacted me about a position that listed Deloitte OCM methodology and ChangeScout experience as a plus. It is a contractor to hire position that can be remote now and into the future. The rate is too low for me and it seems@more on target at the analyst to SC level. DM me for Deets.
I know of an open position for “Strategic Account Manager” NY state..must have experience selling digital transformation to public gov sector. Let me know if interested. Position would be equivalent to a SM at Deloitte
Align to non-M&A offering but do a lot of work in the space (DD, integrations). B4 recruiter reached out and wants me to provide resume for review with hiring partner in M&A space. Does it work if I provide a bio with summary of M&A projects (client names removed) instead of a traditional resume? Also plan to list education and past experience but primary focus on recent M&A work
I’m a new associate at BCG - started two weeks ago and I have no how idea if im doing well or not. I did a first informal feedback session last week and they told me I need to improve on slide making. Is this normal? I have a 6 months probation and I want to make sure I’m in a good position to pass. Am I being too nervous too soon?
The Banana Republicans aren’t even pretending to care anymore - leaving the Senate floor while Schiff delivered his opening remarks. https://lawandcrime.com/awkward/21-empty-seats-more-than-one-third-of-gop-senators-reportedly-left-room-during-schiffs-speech/
Is EY on a hiring spree? Saw a fortune post yesterday that mentioned ey is planning to hire abt 4500 positions.
Is this an accurate distinction? High performer: Exceeds expectations for role and level. Operating above level. Mid/average performer: meets expectations. Gets the job done but nothing above and beyond. Low performer: does not meet expectations for role and level.
I am about to refer my friend for the Accenture tech analyst position. Her resume is two pages. Should it be one page?
Feeling like consulting isn’t the best career for me b/c of the lifestyle and I met someone who I hate being apart from every wk. But I always wanted to reduce gender gap, so I feel conflicted/guilty.
Rant: apply for job online. Job emails me with 7 questions as "next steps", one of which is salary. I email back. They email back (at 9pm mind you) "we can't meet your salary expectations"...
I’m a baby lawyer (2020 grad) and I just got hit with my first “hey you’re a lawyer right?” From a high school classmate lol I feel like I’m officially an attorney now.
Have any US 🐠 gone abroad for their MBA? Looking at LBS / HEC. Pros, cons? Not looking to exit into MBB, FAANG.
My team: can we have a call with you? (4:30pm CT). Client: no I have a meeting and then I'm gone for the day. (Me: lol smh)
How’s the consulting work life balance at Big 4 in Europe Do folks work more than 45 hours through the week and is it normal to have to work on weekends?
I’m a tech consultant working in the SAP practice. I’m a second year associate. I have decided that I don’t like the culture of consulting - work more hours, always add more work and responsibility to your plate, etc. I would like to work a job that is more 9-5 that doesn’t expect you to work in so many different things at once. What industry roles should I be applying to? Is leaving after 1.5 years too soon?
Any insight into PwC People & Organization practice? Curious about culture and people’s experience? Interviewing for a position on the West Coast, would love to learn about SF & LA office culture
I’m newish to this and not sure. If your extension isn’t signed yet, you can’t continue work for the client right until it is? At old firm, it was continue work then charge code for previous time/wk.
Are there any Big 4 or middle market firms that have national tax/policy (WNTS, NTS, etc.) practices that won’t work you to death?
Anyone pivot into health tech from consulting?
In house interviews: I finished a final round of interviews and was expecting a final decision after the interviews. Rather than yes or no, the recruiter told me that the feedback is positive but they need to interview one more candidate to compare since I am the first one interviewed. And they wanted to add one more meeting with their new team member starting next week. Is this common and what’s the best way to deal with this unexpected message? Thanks!
I’m hiring for a experienced consultant that wants to build a HR Service Delivery/Operations capability. We’re looking for someone who has hands on experience, but looks for the accountability of building a practice with strong financial backing and boutique consulting platform.
Interviewing as a Finance Manager for a company halfway across the country. Relocation hasn’t been brought up yet. They know I’m out of state. Can I assume relocation will be offered since they didn’t say it wasn’t? Should I ask before going onto the final round of interviews? Company is owned by Fortune 500 company and has over $250 m in revenue. Also what could I expect to be included in the package? I’ll be a individual contributor.
What’s the company culture like at Coca-Cola? Do you see many people get laid off ? I’m thinking of applying for a software engineer position.
I would be joining IBM as a project manager. I wanted to move again to technical role in some time. Please share your experiences how easy is it to move. I want to move to Data engineering side. Your response would be appreciated 🙏🙏
Has anyone noticed that busy season is changing into a marathon, not a sprint? I’m working close to 60 billable hours/week year round, and 70+ Feb - April. Is this a bigger trend?
