Can anyone recommend any trainings or certifications to up my game? I am a project manager and feeling lost after joining back from maternity leave. It’s been 8 months now
If my client expressed great appreciation to my work, can I ask for tips? Maybe we should normalize the tipping culture across all service areas. Just a random thought
Need counsel: Left advertising to go client side last year. Working at a huge company isn’t for me long-term but the money is great, I have more balance and actually raised my kids this year. I have the opportunity to be a c-suite leader at a very small agency on the rise. Super confused. Money will be less, long-term opportunity will be more. Also thinking about having another kid soonish.
PPD on my project acknowledging the PDM people on this TSA project are staff augmentation ppl who will be laid off when project is over. Said having them allows us to (contd)
senior consultant level at EY in tech transformation PM work - how much will WLB vary by project? Been on the same project for over 2 years with low hours and incredible team culture, but expecting 25%+ raise if I leave D
We are here to guide clients: but this is not always the case when your client believes they are the target audience for their product. How do you convince them that they are not and trust the agency?
Looking into applying to a sport tech accelerator: still in the idea generation phase but missing a coder. Anybody with passion for sport & experience in coding (+ interest/time for a side project)?
Having the last week off has really shown me the toll this client has taken on my life in 3 months. My last client, I would have been bummed to take a week off, this one... Dreading going back on Tues
starting my first project next week! I’m flying to client site for the week, any tips on packing? necessities? I’m so nervous I’ll be underprepared!! Thanks in advance :-)
🤢 Sorry but I do don’t miss leaving my family at the crack of dawn, spending all my time crammed into a client conference room, forced fun team dinners, and leaving exhausted and anxious on Thursday. I love sleeping in my own bed and being part of my community. Leaving consulting in a few weeks and not looking back. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/twelve-things-i-miss-business-travel-jay-cline
Will d usi hold internal technical interviews for (Solution Advisor - cyber infra) project allocation ? I'm a lateral hire and yet to be assigned with a project. Kindly enlighten me. Also how many days can one be on the bench usually?
I’m inundated with client work. Definitely working >12 hour days resulting in no time to offer support with RFPs, practice development, etc. I feel like this will work against me come promo. Thoughts?
Best consulting terms that aren't actually a real word, used in a sentence. "We should robustify the project plan and executize our messaging."
Men of 🐠bowl: How do you dress for a more "tech" team? I'm in the office almost every day (non client site) and most people wear jeans/causal clothes. I want to look good but not too dressed up
SF Producers - favorite audio recording studios in SF or South Bay? Need one that can help kid glove a client that needs to be recorded - in other words - not dealing with a seasoned voice actor.
Hello All, Looking for Hadoop administrator vacancy, have 5 year of experience in Hadoop/Big data administration, Please let me know if you have any openings in your organization. Thanks in advance.
If a company is hiring multiple spots for one role (i.e. multiple analysts in the same dept) would they wait until the end to provide offers or would they send offers as they determine a candidate would be a good fit? I can't for the life of me remember how KPMG did it so many years ago.
Best time to move from Audit into B4 FDD? Recently started as an A1 but looking to make the move within a year or so hopefully
While everyone’s situation is unique, it appears to me that there is a general (and substantive) difference between the mindset of senior execs/partners (Gen Xers) and the Gen Z/Millennial troops as to the need to head back to the office. There is a world of difference between “the office” as code for “client lunches, rounds of golf” vs “needless commuting time that will eat into a working day that is already unsustainable”. Do you feel your organization is in touch with where you are?
Hi! 2019 grad and started working in-house at a large org. Learning a lot, my area is finance and corporate. Curious to know if there are any folks here who moved to a big law firm from an in-house position (very early on in their career). Was it easy? Did you like it? Very happy in my current position - I def have great work life balance, but feel need more than that. Thanks in advance.
Coronavirus, Brexit, US elections - any predictions of how the market will react in 2020?
Does anyone at McKinsey have product management or Data Analytics opportunities? Manager at Big 4 and want to also understand what level I should aim at?McKinsey & Company
Hello 🐠, I have been on a project that I do not like, has absolutely obliterated my work life balance, and put me under a lot of stress. Not to say this doesn’t happen a lot in our job, but I have an opportunity to go back to an old client that I loved. My current project leadership knows the date I’m set to roll off, but have been hinting they won’t let me leave because I’m good at my job. I am so desperate to leave and have been advised by multiple colleagues to do so. What do I do??
Who else is stuck at lga 😩
Creating a company and going the self funded route. Is it silly for me to cut tax advantage account contributions (e.g., 401k) to gain cash on hand? - even if I lose firm contributions.
Thinking of applying at Workday but want to wait until January for several reasons. I am hoping demand will still be high early 2022 but wondering what everyone’s thoughts are
I signed an employment offer with a Company a week ago, and just yesterday received a(written) offer I am very more excited about! (Better salary, opportunities..) The HR of the other company is sending me the onboarding emails to start this Monday but I didn’t update my address to get the computer shipped. What should I do? Is it bad to join knowing I will leave or should I rescind now? I haven’t signed the other offer yet and my tentative start date (due to background checks+) is in November.
Partners, under what scenario, if any, would you consider hiring an associate without a book of business from another firm as a lateral junior partner at your firm? What are the considerations?
If I stayed in consulting and obtained a PT MBA from a M7 program (Booth or Kellogg), would I still be considered a competitive applicant in comparison to FT grads for MBB?
Finally got my first cleared job at 145k. I'm looking to stay in cleared federal work for a long time. How is the salary growth potential for cleared employees?
Fairly new to the whole consulting game and really switched careers to consulting to specifically work at McKinsey (long story there but in short, admire the work they do). Got to last round interviews in 2019 but didn’t close:/ started a job at Accenture, fairly new here but just curious about tips on how to plan to reapply to McKinsey and if a shift like that would even be possible without an MBA?
Can’t get over depression around one mistake. I don’t want to get too specific but it was financial related and involved missing out on a massive amount of money. I didn’t hurt anyone and i also got happily married and got a puppy this year. I’ve had a rough year at work (largely because of depression) but they stuck by me and now I’m on a great role with a team i love. Also lots of interviews. And yet, i can’t get over this one thing and “what could have been.” hate how ungrateful I’m being.
>thought I trainwrecked an interview because i couldn't answer any technical questions ... > get offered r2 interview anyway because I have a 'good attitude' ... I'll take it 👌
