Anyone ever have second thoughts after giving notice and if so, how did you work through them?

Don't overthink it I personally have made it a role that I commit no matter what to the next decision for a period of time and then I can re-consider it otherwise I will go crazy almost literally.

This is embarrassing but I lost a job because I was overthinking my career change and tried to switch back to my old job both of them fell through I managed to find a new job and I'm honestly in a better place now but it wasn't fun to go through just commit to it try your best and reevaluate.

Your reasons for leaving will still be there (if you returned), plus you’d be even less respected.

I’ll admit that I’m going through the same. I’ve had my doubts but you just need to look forward and get excited for the future.

Anyone know anything about George P Johnson? Preferably Boston office?

Currently miserable consultant here (not only because of D so getting ahead of the jokes lol). Client work/corporate work is just draining for me but also feel like I need to be doing business to make respectable money. Are there any corporate/prestigious/high potential jobs where you aren’t an overeducated lackey? Does the job become more stimulating later on? Is it better with roles where I’m not juggling both being slide monkey and trying to add meaningful thought? (2 YOE)

How do you deal with some mild sexism at a startup that has no real HR?

Mild as in there’s just passing comments about me, I’m the only woman on the team, I’m steamrolled a ton in conversation and generally made to feel stupid/awkward. I’m fairly outgoing and outspoken as well, never felt this way at ANY company before.

My husband and I are considering a move from New York to Virginia in the next 3 years. I can waive into the VA bar but I’d be interested to know if anyone else has moved states and how difficult it was to reestablish your legal career. I’m currently licensed in New York and California and will have been practicing for 10 years by the time we move. Thanks!

I am a post bar graduate and currently seeking employment. I did not graduate from a top tier school, but I did graduate in the top third of my class as a dual-degree graduate. About a week ago, a partner at a big law firm connected with me on LinkedIn. He asked if I had a job lined up. I told him no and he responded that I should let him know if there is anything his firm or he can do to help me. We have a meeting with each other in two weeks. Is this a big law opportunity?

How do my fellow litigators deal with hearings that don’t go so well? Whether you fumble over your words, don’t make all the points you wanted to make, or the judge is annoyed and/or gives a bad ruling, etc. I just had a hearing this morning where the judge granted my motion but only after acting annoyed and coming very close to denying it. Now I am replaying in my head what I could’ve done differently and kind of beating myself up. Does this happen to any anyone else?
