ZS Associates Hello folks, I am a permanent employee of Persistent. I am deputed at the client side. My client is an ZS associate. Recently I have resigned from persistent. But ZS is very happy with my work. They don't want me to go. My ZS manager has asked the persis manager to retain me OR remove the cooling period clause, ZS is ready to hire me as a permanent employee. I will be very happy is ZS takes me as Permanent employee. Yup, went from 401k (job #1) to IRA (job #2, rollover IRA technically) to active 401k (job #3).
Technically, I would have been better off keeping it in an IRA (unlimited investment options), but practically it was easier to keep it one place (compliance reasons and restrictions on what brokerage firms I could house my IRA at)
Comingleing in this scenario is probably more about marriage and divorce.
If older jobs are in an IRA and current job is in401k and you get divorced in NYC or NJ then easy to claim the IRA as a pretty marital asset and keep it.
