The meds usually are natural... all you need to take are probiotics (which are just good, natural bacteria) and it’ll clear right up.
I’ve never heard of fluconazole, but I 100% always rely on probiotics when I get yeast infections and they clear up pretty quickly. Yaz is an OTC medicine that is basically just a probiotic you take 3 times a day that will clear it up within a couple days
I also tried mixing boric acid and coconut oil and putting them in a veggie capsule to insert... I know sounds strange but I use to have utis and yeast infections right after. Taking antibiotics made me have them more frequently soo I tried a natural approach and I haven't gotten utis or yeast infections for years now. This is the brand of boric acid I use. I also tried caprylic acid to ingest. Hope this helps you!! I spent a long time scouring the internet to find these natural remedies
HUMCO HOLDING GROUP 303950303963 Boric Acid Powder, 6 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001V9WY0S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dX2zBb36BF5C4
FWIW practically all brands of yogurt have zero grams of lactose. The live and active cultures break it down. Everyone I know who is lactose intolerant—myself included—can eat it no problem.
I think the benefit from yogurt comes when it’s orally ingested, not applied topically. Why not ask your doctor about options other than diflucan?
Try caprylic acid
Great, thanks! I think I’m going to start adding probiotic to my diet too, especially if I have to take antibiotics! Such a pain
Haha thanks guys that was just my easy way of saying I can’t eat dairy for multiple reasons but my natural lady told me how to make my own probiotics by salting veggies and putting them in a jar for 10 days prior to the fridge. Gona start adding that to my diet.
She also said to help with symptoms to take a bath with a little bit of white vinegar in it FYI for anyone who’s interested
I sometimes have mild cases and I clean + aloe. Get a nice/strong aloe ointment, not like crappy banana boat post sun aloe. It works wonders for me just neutralizing everything down there
I used to have chronic yeast and bacterial vaginosis and tried like every random natural remedy I could find (lol like ridiculous stuff like garlic cloves up there ect ect) and ultimately what worked for me were tea tree oil suppositories (can be ordered on amazon) which finally cleared me and then prevention with probiotics especially when on antibiotics or on my period. If I feel something coming on I’ll do a tea tree oil suppository, but after I cleared them both I haven’t really needed it.
Use a pad when you do these because it sort of leaks and can stain things.
Are you referring to otc meds? Because the fluconazole I am trying to avoid is not natural
Most doctors I have interacted with never provide natural options. I have heard eating yogurt but I’m lactose intolerant and don’t eat dairy anymore sadly
I do have a natural practitioner I see but this started Friday and she’s not going to be accessible until Monday, so I posted here to see if anyone has a success story ...
Thanks guys! Really appreciate it
Penicillin, which is the common antibiotic prescribed in these situations, is natural. It is derived from fungi. I wouldn’t wait too long unless you want an infection to spread and turn into something more serious.
E1- Isn’t Yaz a birth control? Did you mean Azo?
P1- this post is meant for natural remedies as I am trying to avoid prescriptions especially antibiotics which cause yeast infections not treat them. And FYI No one would prescribing penicillin for this since it’s not a bacterial problem. It would be an anti-fungal like fluconazole (diflucan)
Also just to clarify what I said earlier, the boric acid and caprylic acid is what I used for yeast infections. I used something else called d mannose for utis...
OP YES omg my bad, that’s exactly what I meant haha. Azo has always worked wonders for me, and I think it’s fairly natural! Although regular probiotics do the same thing.
C1 Something a doctor finally told me last year that I wish I had learned earlier is that if you’re taking antibiotics you should be taking probiotics, too! Antibiotics get rid of too MUCH bacteria, messing up the balance of good bacteria and leading to yeast infections. They don’t have any bad side effects and they help regulate your digestive system, too!
I’m also lactose intolerant and confirm yogurt isn’t an issue
Good to know! Thanks !
