Never in the history of the world has anyone accomplished this

There is some of that humor I thought you lost MK1... hahahah!

So glad to see the responses here instead of the typical unnecessary answer of “go fork over $300k+ for an mba”

like

Agreed. It is really disheartening and deceptive to push the idea that a person can only change career paths or move to a better firm with an m7 MBA and everyone else has no hope. It makes it easier (if you consider 2 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent easy), but it is certainly possible to change without an MBA.

Can I ask how long the process took you BCG1? I applied a few weeks ago and haven’t heard anything yet so was curious

It happens often lol

like

Yes, most often to BCG actually lol

funny

Yes

Yup, definitely possible

Yep! Just made the switch myself

Yeah of course. Just expect to come down a few levels. So if you’re a manager now, you’d come in as an entry level consultant

How do you think a swap from MBB to big4 strategy would be viewed? Currently in a flagship office of an MBB and there is basically no strategy. There are 9 miserable cost outs / transformations / PMOs for every 1 borderline strategy case. The staffing lottery in my region means you almost always end up working 75 hours+ on some god forsaken project. Contrast that to what I hear about big 4 strategy: lower hours and more strategy exposure as the crappy projects go to the other MC departments

Anyone here gone from big 4 to MBA to MBB? Any tips? Any insights are much appreciated!!

Hi guys, I switched 20 days back to Optum. I have 7 years of experience working as a full stack Engineer, who is passionate working on both front end and back end on latest technologies. But my project is working only on back end with 10 years old tech stack. There is no front end work at all. What should I do? I don't like working here at all, but I am not sure whether moving out again in a month will give bad Impression on my resume. Hence please give me advice on this situation

On the bench for the first time in a while. So happy I'm not waking up at 4:40 a.m. Good luck to the rest of you flying out tomorrow! I'm going to sit naked in my bed and build a few decks.

I think i already know what people will say, but would you take a McKinsey EM offer for $180k and $60k bonus, or MasterCard director level role for $235k with 25% bonus? Currently at $165k base with 5-15% bonus. Hopefully more in a few weeks. Obviously the immediate comp and WLB are better at option 2, but option 1 might have more prestige/exit opps and higher comp after 5 to 10 years if i stayed and made partner? WLB isn’t that important to me rn, but it may be in coming years.

I have an employee who has been out on Mat leave since beginning of October. She is scheduled to come back beginning of Jan. Today I received an email from our employee asking if she can work the following schedule for the month of Jan: two week 3 days on, two off and then another two 2 days on, 3 off. This is due to COVID and not wanting to put the child in daycare (which I totally get). Not being in a situation like this before, how do I respond?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I feel like the longer I spend working in consulting, the more unrealistic my salary expectations become
