How do you think a swap from MBB to big4 strategy would be viewed? Currently in a flagship office of an MBB and there is basically no strategy. There are 9 miserable cost outs / transformations / PMOs for every 1 borderline strategy case. The staffing lottery in my region means you almost always end up working 75 hours+ on some god forsaken project. Contrast that to what I hear about big 4 strategy: lower hours and more strategy exposure as the crappy projects go to the other MC departments
How does lat hire recruiting work for MBB? 1. Is it better to apply during the fall or timeline doesn’t matter unlike undergrad recruiting 2. Is it seen as negative if Ididn’t stay at my firm 1 year
How did you guys break into your industries? What're the biggest qualitative differences between MBB Consultants and Big Four Consultants?
Most lucrative & relatively common MBB exits? Is it PE Ops & FAANG roles (in addition to in-house Strategy & Sr Exec roles)?
Anyone here gone from big 4 to MBA to MBB? Any tips? Planning on recruiting for summer internships in the fall but heard “interesting” work experience (I.e., blue chip, IB, engineering) is what gets you an interview, while I have very “uninteresting” work experience coming from big 4. Any insights are much appreciated!!
Hey Fishbowl community! Looking for referrals to MBB Toronto or NYC. Have 2 years of experience as an analyst at Accenture Toronto (1 month away from promo) - please DM if you can help :)
Worth trying to lateral to MBB from a T2 if long term goal is pe investments side? Already lateraled once..
Would CBS J-term make sense if you want to transition from MBB to a US start-up or FAANG?
Too early to leave MBB after <1 year for a start up if you think it’s a good opportunity? Anyone with experience doing this? How easy is it to return?
How much of a drag is it to come from a hard nontarget (think T100 public state school, i.e., UConn, UMaryland, SUNY, etc) even if you're at MBB? Will headhunters reach out to my profile or will I have to make a more active effort?
MBB FAANG Networth
Went from big 4 advisory to a lower/MM PE Ops role. Is it worth trying for MBB if my near-future goal is to do portfolio ops at larger PE fund? I’m worried my resume doesn’t have strong enough names
What are the top TMT consulting firms after MBB?
Non-mbb folks that want to enter mbb. If you had a cross offer from all three, would the recent negative publications about McK influence your decision?
JPM analyst to make 100k right outta college 😳 MBB to follow soon? https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/29/business/wall-street-pay-jpmorgan/index.html?utm_source=morning_brew
What are MBB bill rates? Rough estimates?
How much weight does brand name consulting firms have on top MBA programs? For example, is it significantly better to work for MBB firms vs. big 4 vs. well known specialized boutique firms?
Would you apply through a diversity recruiting link or an MD referral link assuming you have referrals from both paths?
PSA to anyone reading this Glassdoor review: it was most likely written at the behest of management. Nobody who works here actually believe this. Unless you’re in Jordan’s inner circle or are delusional. Zimmerman Advertising
Hello all, does getting promoted from Software Engineer to Engineering Manager require H1B amendment? In the new role, I’ll split my time 50-50 between hands-on coding and management.
Hi guys, I switched 20 days back to Optum. I have 7 years of experience working as a full stack Engineer, who is passionate working on both front end and back end on latest technologies. But my project is working only on back end with 10 years old tech stack. There is no front end work at all. What should I do? I don't like working here at all, but I am not sure whether moving out again in a month will give bad Impression on my resume. Hence please give me advice on this situation
On the bench for the first time in a while. So happy I'm not waking up at 4:40 a.m. Good luck to the rest of you flying out tomorrow! I'm going to sit naked in my bed and build a few decks.
Is "Monthly Performance Pay" & "Quarterly Performane Pay" always 100% for TCS ITA C2 designation if allocated to Project?
My company offers a 50% Match of the first 6% of my 401k on pre-tax and ROTH contributions. I already max out a ROTH IRA separately and I’m looking to put 20% of my pay into my 401K (potentially rolling over). How should I split out my %s between: Pre-tax, After-tax, and ROTH 401K options?
Moving to San Diego in the spring from the central coast. Any recs on places to live (late 30’s with a kid)? Want to be close to restaurants and things to do, but a little too old and tired for gas lamp!
Can anyone help with total comp for Principal Engagement Manager at AWS? Base, bonus, RSU, and signing bonus? What level is this role?
How much is each firms CPA bonus? Looking mostly for non big 4, big 4 seem pretty standard
Would a SHRM certification be beneficial for a consultant in organization strategy? Anyone in a similar boat?
PwC Anyone have a referral I can use that will help with my application for a operations consulting position
I think i already know what people will say, but would you take a McKinsey EM offer for $180k and $60k bonus, or MasterCard director level role for $235k with 25% bonus? Currently at $165k base with 5-15% bonus. Hopefully more in a few weeks. Obviously the immediate comp and WLB are better at option 2, but option 1 might have more prestige/exit opps and higher comp after 5 to 10 years if i stayed and made partner? WLB isn’t that important to me rn, but it may be in coming years.
Once in a while..buying gift card from restaurant instead of eating dinner and claiming it as dinner expense.. Yay or Nay
Westin at Wilmington DE 👀 I see a lot of y’all working but once it hit 5pm. Everyone seemed to vanish.
I have an employee who has been out on Mat leave since beginning of October. She is scheduled to come back beginning of Jan. Today I received an email from our employee asking if she can work the following schedule for the month of Jan: two week 3 days on, two off and then another two 2 days on, 3 off. This is due to COVID and not wanting to put the child in daycare (which I totally get). Not being in a situation like this before, how do I respond?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
I feel like the longer I spend working in consulting, the more unrealistic my salary expectations become
