So a client manager and I used to flirt a lot, though I kept my distance because obviously dontwanttofuckshitup! Now that she is leaving the firm, is it okay to respond to her moves?
If I’ve been asked to take a drug screen after I’ve already been confirmed and have used Marijuana in the last several days, will the client even care if it’s just some pot?
I’m starting to feel very flat about my job. Part of its burnout, but I’m realizing the other part is that I’m just not fulfilled by what I do. I just switched teams and have a great and supportive career manager, but my day-to-day client work is soul sucking. I’ve found myself feeling cynical about things. Not sure where to go or how to look. I’m 26, have advanced relatively quickly, but don’t want to start at the bottom again. Any tips on getting started?
In your opinion, what’s the expected response time for standard emails (not time sensitive, normal client/partner). 48 hours? 24 hours? 12? Depends?
Has anyone here gone on medical leave of absence for mental health? How much info did you disclose to your project leadership?
Pro se plaintiff, an attorney, filed a complaint alleging mold defects after closing on a property. Client, layperson, may have agreed orally to a settlement amount without proof of damages prior to filing appearance and obtaining an attorney. Client filed appearance pro se, then plaintiff sent over a draft settlement agreement few weeks later which client didn’t sign. Client then got an attorney, filed answer, etc. Can this oral agreement be voided for coercion, indefinite mat’l term, etc?
Been doing the M-Th grind for a few months now. No sleep, I’m getting depressed, and miss my SO terribly. SM and Manager don’t care since I’m pretty vital to the project. How to make it more bearable?
My intern was assigned the role of “strategist” on an intern-project and they asked me “Wait, so I just have think about stuff, I don’t actually have to DO anything??”
My project has nobody full time on it ( allocated under 25 hours) yet everyone is doing full time work and tight deadline. Is this normal? The client is also not responsive
My client had to stay on site until 5:30p yday and complained about having to stay late. I proceeded to laugh and cry at the same time
Anyone else think the dress code should be N/A when there's a 0% chance of seeing the client? I do my best work when I'm comfortable. I don't buy into the projecting professionalism excuse. 👔❌
More and more learning these softer lessons: perception is reality; office politics is real; biggest customer is not client but your manager, etc. As previous engineer, all overwhelming...
TFW when your SM announces to the team that your manager is leaving the project while the manager is out on PTO. -_-
Signing bonus commitment date is coming up. Should I provide notice to quit now knowing that I’m going to leave after the date passes? I don’t want to hurt the project but I don’t want to screw myself
For some reason, I never have issues with clients or the work at hand, but it's always internal people that give me the most grief. Everything can be going great with the client and project, and then an M just comes in to rain on the parade. How are these people building "eminence." Who wants to work with people that are always pessimistic and irritated.
If all the top consulting firms made anonymous decks or gave anonymous pitches to a client, eg no branding and the client did not know which firm made which deck, do you actually think that the client would prefer MBB? Is MBB actually coming up with better/more innovative solutions? I feel like I see many repeat or slightly altered solutions on almost all of my cases, are these really things that people at Deloitte/Accenture etc aren’t coming up with?
So how did my client opened the week you’re asking? By telling the entire team (mainly consultants) that when the company stock was bottoming a couple of weeks ago they were looking to get out
Can anyone share what the process looks like when you resign as a Big4 partner? Likely taking a position with a competitor. Expecting some difficult conversations around the client non-compete but not sure what to expect in terms of getting your capital out and cashing out pension (not vested yet), tax support for current calendar year, etc.

Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?
My room this year is really warm, what’s the best classroom fan that can cool an entire class?
Well, guess I will be using my standing desk…
