I had three interviews for one position and I did a demonstration lesson, which the teachers and the principal loved. I STILL didn’t get the job.
That happened to me in PA. Someone who student taught there got the job. That’s what I mean about being jerked around.
Good luck. I’ve never seen a state that likes to jerk people around as much as PA. I had the same experience there more than once.
I have heard of this. My niece called me yesterday saying that her third round was with the Superintendent, in his office. I knew she got the job. And sure enough, they offered her the contract this afternoon.
The fact that they are still meeting with you is a good sign to me. Do you have another interview scheduled? Some supers want to meet candidates before they get an offer to fill the position. The Superintendent could have had a couple emergencies he had to contend with. Candidates who are not hired usually don’t have an interview even near the Supers office. You’re in…sounds to me.
Yes I have had a few similar experiences. That is nerve wrecking. Just know that you are worth it and keep interviewing. The right employer will not have to second guess you are the right person for the job. There are jobs and there are positions where you fit well and have support to grow.
It’s called the jerk around, and I would keep my options open. I’ve never heard of a superintendent interviewing ANY teacher for a school position, so this is new to me. As far as this being a “top school”, what exactly does that mean in REAL terms?
