Would love to hear about your gardening leave experience, especially in the event production sector, i.e. Gartner, Forrester, etc. I’m planning my resignation and I’m unsure if I should plan my next endeavor around it. I plan to continue my career in event production but as an in-house producer for a solution provider, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Surprisingly I’ve had wonderful experiences managing boomers but I’ve struggled with a few genXers. Im technically an “elder millennial” … I honestly loathe the fact that I’m in the millennials birth year range, but as a millennial apparently I like to feel special so perhaps it’s a perfect stupid fit
I've worked with some boomers in the past who were upper management. They didn't like change nor wanted to compromise, so things were difficult.

How did you navigate their indifferences… in my case they are slowing down processes
I'm 26 (still dk if that makes me a millennial or Gen Z lmfao I don't claim either bc both yell at me if I try) and I have a really rough time with resistance as well.
Our generation not only is more technically savvy bc of our modern education, but we've also been taught to be much more competitive, at least if we attended competitive schools. So I try to keep all that in mind...boomers & Gen Xers on the other hand have done perfectly fine for decades without having to learn much beyond their existing skills (some actually kept up to date and I cherish those folks).
At my company, I'm lucky my manager is a millennial, so I keep providing constant constructive criticism about our processes. At first I was scared, but now I'm noticing they're actually scared that I or my other team members will leave if they don't make an effort to heed some of my advice (one of them actually recently left bc of lack of upward movement in tech processes). We have finally (after a year of me nagging) gotten some movement and are looking to revamp some of our major processes. It's going to be a long road towards approval and actual change, but I'm just happy that serious conversations are taking place.
So keep pushing. If it comes to the point where you just can't take it anymore, start applying for a role at another company. Just be sure to pay attention to what their culture is like during interviews so you don't find yourself back to square 1.

So your process seems to have taken a year to put new systems in place. I’m not in a position to “nag” a change into place with this particular.
