I have been constantly approaching my manager but the only thing I hear is he will talk with HR and our AVP. The work culture is also more than 12hrs a day. I'm losing interest bcos of low salary and work load, I have a family to take care but the survival is too difficult. I request if anyone could refer me. Accenture Tata Consultancy Deloit

Why are weddings so expensive?!
Hi,
Need reference for TCS
New to Fishbowl?

I was born and raised in Chicago. Most younger Asians that move to Chicago don’t live in Chinatown/Bridgeport. It’s really residential and not really that interesting. I don’t think there’s a neighborhood in Chicago with an Asian touch but the neighborhoods PwC1 listed are nice!
Hmmm… Not sure about the Asian touch. I wouldn’t choose Chinatown / Bridgeport or areas close to Uptown / Vietnamese town.
Most people choose West Loop, South Loop, River North, or Streeterville if you want to stay in downtown or Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wicker Park, Logan Square if you want more neighborhood feel.
What you're looking for doesn't exist. Maybe south loop but even then eh
I’m born and raised in Chicago and have lived in both uptown Argyle “New Chinatown” and Bridgeport/Chinatown. If you’re a new mover to Chicago, I wouldn’t recommend living there. It’s more family oriented and not focused on youth. I’d live in the cool parts of town. It’s only an Uber ride or a few stops on red line away whenever you’re needing to go to a real Chinese grocery store. Otherwise, Chowbus and Fantuan delivers all over if the restaurant isn’t on DD or GH/UE.
Ktown is up north on Lawrence, as is little India, which is on Devon. Apart from the "Asian touch" these are not especially desirable neighborhoods
New Ktown is in Glenview, touching Niles and Morton Grove. Not many Koreans left in the old Ktown.
If you are in early 20s just go to Lakeview or Lincoln Park.
Gotcha. I’ll look into Lakeview & Lincoln Park. What’s the differences would you say?
What about west loop, wicker, etc?
Lakeview is a bit younger. There’s the Cubs stadium and a bunch of bars to go out at. Lincoln Park also has a young crowd, but more young families are in the area. Not as many bars, but nice restaurants. West loop is the new, trendy area, but have seen mainly young families in the area (cheaper to buy in vs Lincoln Park). Wicker is the “hipster” part of town. Lots of restaurants, bars, and small shops.
Benefit of Lakeview and Lincoln Park is their proximity to brown and red lines (Chinatown and Argyle are both on the red line). Wicker runs on the blue line, which can be convenient or a pain depending on what places you think you’ll frequent. West loop is a pain to get into. Runs on the green line, which means you’ll have to connect to other lines to get anywhere in the city
I’ve got a room in luxury condo in Logan square with a vacant 1br and bath open if you’re interested! I’m in my mid 20s FYI.
A lot of Asians live in South Loop as you get a bit more for your money and proximity to Chinatown, but agree it’s bland. West Loop, River North, Streeterville have good proximity to downtown, but more expensive. There is an H Mart in the West Loop and another small Korean grocer off the highway northwest of downtown. Agree with others who have said Lincoln Park and Lakeview are pretty white, think Big 10 frat culture and college football. Chinatown is south of downtown, more Korean / Vietnamese places are north.
It might be prudent to ask which ethnicity or which part of Asia is your heritage?
same as OP
