I had a tentative hearing on a matter. The matter was settled and we asked the court to waive a hearing and just sign the order based on the papers. The court neither let us know they were waiving it nor gave us the time / zoom for the hearing.
Should I assume it's not happening? The hearing was supposed to be on Friday. I need to know if I have to prepare.

Anyone else thinking about getting the new Gucci x Oura ring? I want to not wear a smart watch anymore so I can wear real watches again. $600 price difference from a normal black Oura (but inclusive of a lifetime membership) is only slightly stopping me.
Hi, I changed my job like 3 months ago, it was supposed to be a lead front end engineer position, but after and awful onboarding I’m just a regular dev in a project that is not yet live but requires a lot of refactor. It was supposed to be a project to get familiar with the company but at this point I don’t know what to do. Give them some time, talk with them about my situation or just look for another job. What do you think about it?

I’m seeking creative ideas to teach ELA and math to a non verbal student with autism in middle school that also is not fond of using a pencil. We just started using a communication app with him this year. I’m looking for suggestions for maybe apps or manipulative games that will be engaging. His receptive language is high he just lacks verbal communication. I’m also interested in promethean board activities. We use News 2 You/Unique Learning system and they are great. I’m just wanting variety.
Can you send me any free sel (social skills) curriculum you use for high school students that have EBD and/ or SLD? Thank you!
I am looking for break ideas that have a natural ending. I have a student that needs breaks, but won’t stop when the timer goes off, which leads to severe behaviors. loves Legos, but that has no end.
What planners do you use as a special educator that helps you keep all your “to-dos” in order?
Hello! I'm pretty new to special education, and could use some advice.
The other day I was with a high school class, and a student interrupted my welcome song (I teach music) by shouting "Stop, that's terrible!" and wheeling over to physically take my hands off the keyboard.
I have to admit, I was rather taken aback. I'm used to yelling and interruption, but not being usurped at the keyboard.
I can put in a comment how I responded; however, I'd most like to know, What would you have said/done?
Hello! Special education teacher here. Fellow teachers, I would like to know if any of your instructional aides (IA) are allowed to be in locked rooms with students for any purpose at all?
How does your resource classes work? Do you pull students into the resource room after they have had the main instruction to help them in the small group setting? Or.. do you actually teach the ELA and Math curriculum in the SPED room instead of them going into the General Ed class for ELA and Math instruction? Maybe something entirely different? I’d love to hear what you are doing and if it works for you.
The hardest part about teaching Sped is not the difficulty students experience with learning concepts. It’s the behaviors they cause because they feel they will be unsuccessful at a task.
My school does not provide curriculum for spec ed. What are you using for reading comprehension that won't cost me my paycheck?
I’m considering a credential in elementary special education-mild/moderate. I really enjoyed the time I had when I was a sub covering special Ed classes, but that was just a couple of days at a time. I hear so much about burn out and teachers quitting within a few years. It is starting to intimidate me, it is starting to make me think I’ll regret my choice. Can anyone let me know if you recommend this path now that you are experienced?
I'm curious what others are using to teach spelling with learning support/resource room students. I have several students with writing disabilities who really struggle with spelling and I'm wondering if there's a great curriculum or workbook out there. Any suggestions? Any great TeachersPayTeachers resources? Thanks!
