This is always be case. If you can front that you have some freelance work it helps. And just as when you employed it helps to have multiple offers.

But I don’t have any freelance work. Is there something else I can say to make this a fairer playing field?

Not to start a political debate… I am not anti vaccine but have not wanted to get the COVID vaccine. I think I will be getting the vaccine tomorrow. Anyone else feel conflicted who originally really did not want to get it, but was kind of feeling forced to get it?
