TMI question but here goes - I eat a high fiber, veggie focused diet. I’ve suspected that I may have IBS surrounding cruciferous vegetables but I ignore it because I enjoy the taste of them and know they’re good for me, even if it causes me a lot of pain, gas, and bloating. The only issue now is I’m finding that I’m constipated way more often… I could definitely stand to drink more water but I’d think with a high fiber diet I wouldn’t have this problem. Is this IBS related? Any advice?

Long one - one of my best friends (10+ years) and I had a drink last week, I told her of my recent ADHD diagnosis and how we had noticed the generational trend (my mum & grandad as very similar symptoms wise and they acknowledge this, but not diagnosed). When I was diagnosed, I struggled to find any info out there on adults and workplace etc. Thinking of setting up just a blog space for people’s stories, anonymously. If anyone’s happy to tell their story or an experience that might be useful lmk. Happy to provide a framework of questions so you don’t have to write a think piece... could be how it impacts work, advances your work, learnings from medication, learnings from stress, how you tell people, etc - anything that could help others!

Can my physician prescribe me extended release for daily use and immediate release to take as needed. Has anybody ever had that?

For example, I know people who were diagnosed younger have had to battle with not feeling like they need meds to work effectively vs those getting access and diagnosis later having to trial and error while learning about it all fresh.

Anyone else prefer short acting meds? Which ones? The long acting stuff just strings me out for a long time rather than creating long periods of focus.

ADHD advice and suggestions for consistent high-performance on an important 60-80 hour work week project?… Medikinet (concerta) helps with focus but makes you feel bit more tired/lazy, so would you add a bit of modafinil? Anyone mixed these two?

Recommendations for medicine for sleep

Has anyone used Thesis to help manage their ADHD? I’ve been worried about using stimulants and it seems like a great alternative, but doubt it would be covered by insurance…

Does anyone here take concerta and struggle with the “concerta crash” as the medicine wears off? I’ve been on it since 7th grade and feel like the coming down effects have been a lot more draining recently. It makes my evenings pretty unenjoyable. On 54mg currently (have been at this dosage for probably 8 years) wondering if I should ask about lower dosage or explore a different medicine. Any advice is much appreciated!

As I am moving up the ladder, I am finding my executive functioning skills are not able to keep up. I struggle to take initiative, organize and complete non project work— BD, training or even connecting with my sponsor partner. I procrastinate & then it is too late. It has gotten worse after becoming a mom. I felt I had to work incredibly hard for my SM promotion compared to my peers. How do you all cope with this? Or is it time to quit consulting?
