I hated on knocking big time but have brought in 13mill with it alone

Hit up small businesses locally owned non-franchised mom-and-pop type stuff. Do it face-to-face. I guarantee you that 90% of them never heard of a SIMPLE IRA. They're out there funding at traditional or Roth IRA with no idea they could get over 13,000 into an account just by matching a small amount to employees who actually give a damn.

like

Intriguing , where do you guys live that you are door knocking and getting this type of ROI , and what are you saying at the doors

like

I try to meet 3-5 "green" prospects a week. Sometimes I get through 500 doors and sometimes it's much less. Sometimes I meet the perfect prospect and we sit on their porch and talk for an hour. Some days I don't meet anyone even close to a prospect. It's mentally hard as hell so don't judge your success until you've done it for 4 weeks. Then look back and decide if it works for you or not. Go hard for 4 weeks though, wear a suit, and ask direct questions.

Door knocking brings in 7-10 million a year over first couple years for me but it's damn hard. Never tried cold calling over the phone. Interested in where you get numbers and what you say?

like

I just started researching and I'm looking into scripts etc... but I'll be hitting the suburbs next week. Going to go hard for the last weeks of fall and see how it pans out. Do you all have a ratio (i.e. Always knock on 100 doors a day etc...?)

like

Yes, :)

@Edward Jones 1 I would love to connect and learn your technique… I am out in Salt Lake and have no qualms about knocking on doors :-)

When you EDJ guys talk about door knocking, do you mean small businesses or are you hitting up people at home? It's hard to believe that works.

At home. We've been doing it that way for almost 100 years. It works... unless of course you're in downtown New York or down town LA... then maybe not.

Get out to the suburbs. I'm in Atlanta but knock in a suburb.. introduce yourself, tell them what you do, and get to know them. 99% will tell you to go away but the 1% will have a 401k rollover or a bunch of money in savings, which is what I focus on when knocking.

@Ameriprise OP : come to EDJ and I'll teach you all the tricks :)

I’ve always cold called...but then got busy and stopped for like 7 years...now doing it again and although I don’t get to talk to as many people as before the responses have been great because no one does it anymore.

I’m a second year associate at a small, but reputable firm. My caseload is almost entirely made up of clients who were referred to one of the partners but the partners are too busy so I end up taking the case. The clients are told up front that an associate, rather than a partner will be taking his/her case. I’ve run into an issue a couple of times where the client doubts my advice because I am only 2 years in. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I address the fact that I’m only 2 years in?

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.
Thanks for any help!

I have 32k miles with THY that are about to expire. Normally I'd go ahead and book a flight, but I can't project which countries might be locked down again 5-6 months from now (haven't accrued enough PTO to travel in near future). The only other way to keep the miles is to pay $10 per 1000 miles, as far as I know. Are there other strategies?

Need some advice on renting here in ATX.

Back in May 2021, I rented a property that had sustained damage during the big snow storm. This wasn't disclosed at lease signing. The home leaked every time it rained, mold was found in the home & the LL failed to make repairs that resulted in me falling down a flight of stairs. I moved out& rented an apt for 2 mos before signing a lease on the house I live in now. This house has a serious big problem& I've found mold here too. Continued below

CFP study programs:

I'm a little confused on Danko - does he offer a self-study option for the coursework requirement? On his website it looks like each module has a 4-day virtual class which I wouldn't be able to attend due to working full time. Does this program also include self-study material, and the classes are just supplementary/optional? I was also looking at Dalton for self-study and Danko for test prep. Thoughts?
