My organization has had some executive leadership changes & drastic HR changes in the last 2 years. This was done strategically due to rapid growth and a 30% increase in employees in less than a year. My team & executive leadership has identified significant issues around our employees having lost trust in their supervisors and this is impacting the overall culture. We are focusing on supervisor development & are looking for a book or course to help supervisors gain the trust back. Suggestions?

Unpopular opinion: the FIRE community is contributing to an unhealthy workaholic culture as we forestall healthy work-life balance in favor of reaching our “FIRE” numbers a few years earlier. As a result, work culture is becoming all the more intolerable as the bold few would-be advocates for work-life balance are sucked headfirst into the rat race, and no one is left to fix things from the inside.

Society overall would be better served by a more community-minded approach to work-life balance.

Why do we have such a strong preference for selling to existing clients? I have seen a few opportunities go by because lack of support to pursue it. Is it a risk strategy? Or just territorial culture?

Anybody have experience working in Senior Living? I’ve been considering starting my own firm but, have no idea how to start my own fund from an admin perspective. I have an offer than will pay me the same base salary but total comp is about 30% more than my current total comp - driven by sign on and performance bonus. It’s a bit of a career shift, different industry and better growth potential. This was after my counter offer so asking for more isn’t an option. Am I crazy for considering to take it, or should base salary not be the main focus?

Just finished my first year in audit. Recruiter reached out to me for a role with a 30% bump in salary. Total comp included it gets closer to 45%. I actually enjoyed my first year and especially being done with busy season now feeling pretty good. Not at all actively looking to leave, but just looking for advice on if I would be crazy for not pursuing an opportunity for so much more money at least a little further. Really what I care about is my long term career more than anything
