I save all my heavy lifting for my home gym when I’m home on Friday and the weekend. I use Monday - Thursday for lighter shoulder and arm work, and then cardio. Then I can do heavy chest, back, and legs on the weekends.
Sometimes I can even squeeze in a Thursday night lift, but that depends on if I dabble in a few fly day beverages at the airport and flight.
It’s yielded pretty good results, I managed to keep a lot of my muscle on for only lifting heavy a few days a week.
I’ve been able to make some gains with hotel gyms. Alternatively look into calisthenics
Check out the book Convict Conditioning written by a guy who spent years in prison with lots of time on his hands to master the art of bodyweight exercises.
It focuses around 6 primary pinnacle exercises: 1 handed pushup, pull-ups, handstands, 1 legged squats, a full back bend, and one other I'm forgetting right now. But the program takes you through the progression of developing the foundational muscles to perform those exercises.
Did I back in college during an injury and had great success with it.
