Blue Island Traditional Medicine is great! Try the cupping too. Division Chiropractic and Acupuncture is also good if you’re on the north side. I think both had a $45 copay when I went.

Essential acupuncture Chicago on armitage off Milwaukee is great! Siri is really wonderful. Also, Wholehealth Chicago on Clybourn south of Fullerton is excellent for all sorts of eastern and more holistic approaches to medicine.

I used to go to essential. I love it but want to see what it’s like somewhere else. Thanks for the suggestions!

I worked at a large insurance defense firm for 4 years out of law school. I really enjoyed the work itself, but the hour expectations kept increasing and I was getting burnt out. I decided to try a new type of law and have been at the new firm 3 months. I have way less responsibilities and none of my own cases. I’m worried this was a wrong move/too far of a step backwards. I know I don’t see myself here long term, but I’m not sure how long I need to stay to avoid looking like a job hopper—help!

I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I don’t want to burn my bridges, but my dream agency contacted me after being at my new job for a month! I’m all for sticking it out, but this other opportunity allows for more creativity, closer to home, and most likely better pay. Anybody ever been in this position, and what did you do?

Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?

Thoughts on moving in-house at the end of maternity leave from Big Law? Will it burn bridges at my firm? I’m a mid-level currently on leave, and was just offered a position with a high-growth sister company of one of my firm’s largest clients. A part of me thinks that my practice group leader will be happy to have me there to bring future business his way, but another voice in my head says I’m just fooling myself and that resigning after a 20-week leave is bound to piss people off.

I’ve been working 12 hours a day minimum since I was 11 years old .. so now 12 hour days feel like play for me. Also put me infront of a screen for 24 hours and I won’t move until I need to go to sleep . I have been like that since I was a kid so now it’s in my blood. I never felt I was working. I’m always curious and my mind goes 1000 miles an hour . What about you? Do you feel it’s work and CBF after 8 hours? Or you feel it’s your hood and you can’t have enough of it?
