I was an MBA intern and FT hire at Deloitte. Been here 3 years, been at M for the last year. I have seen others leave at this point in their careers and go direct to SM/director roles in industry, but as I start applying for jobs and have convos with recruiters, I have had more than one say that I’m light on YOE and that for that reason alone I am either not considered for a SM role or unlikely to have my salary expectations met. How can I combat/preempt this? Others clearly have.
I’m due for a review and possibly a raise. Any thoughts on asking for a raise during a pandemic?
I have a feeling that with the delta variant, schools may do the same as last year and make classes remote after thanksgiving so students aren’t going back and forth from home to school. Thoughts?
Starting salary for a 1st year associate at PwC?
End of Year Sign Out Poll: I’m curious how many teachers are required to: give up their keys at the end of the year even when they’re returning, clean out their classroom even when they’re returning, do intensive cleaning/janitorial duties before signing out, or other ridiculous procedures? (My answer in comments)
SF fish: how much do you pay in rent each month? How much do you make? Alternately, what % of your annual salary goes to rent? I take it the 30% rule does not apply in the Bay Area 😣
has anyone interviewed with a hedge fund before?
Has anyone received equity as contingency comp? I have a potential client with a founders dispute. He doesn’t have cash, and the other founder ripped him off and is now running the company. He wants to sue for equity and wants to pay me with whatever equity he wins. I’ve never done a deal like that. Is that even enforceable? CA law. The startup is actually quite promising.
I loathe American Airlines. Old airplanes. Too tight connections. Rude AF desk staff. Incompetent flight attendants. 🤬
I know it's early to even mention this, but has anyone starting preparing lessons for the fall? I want to create a remote learning webquest (how to use remote learning tools) so that students are prepared for anything.
I have an exploratory call with a recruiter to determine opportunities I’m interested in. It’s a Zoom call. Would you dress up for it?
I’m trying to fix my resume, so I can be fully prepared if more layoffs happen at ACN. I really want to include client names, rather than a long description. I know about the NDAs, but what if we’re not disclosing confidential info and the partnership is public? What do you guys suggest? I really want my resume to be noticed.
For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
Been diligently saving up Marriott points to convert to SPG for an upcoming Hawaii trip. I must have read the point conversion ratio backward and now I'm 7k points short and working remotely 🙃
Applying to T15 in R2. Currently have a 700 GMAT (43Q, 41V) after taking once. Even if I raise my quant to 47, which would be impressive for me, I’ll still be at a 700 (possibly 710). 3.6 undergrad GPA. Worth retaking? Or just focus on the rest of my applications?
For those that received a top MBA, looking back at your career would you have rather had an M7 MBA or a T15 MBA that was a half or full ride?
