Anyone go from WFH to going in an office? I WFH a few days a week but may have an opportunity that’s a 50%+ pay increase, but would require me to be in an office M-F. Worth it? Early in my career.

Absolutely, yes! Especially early in the career. Being at office will give you the opportunity to learn about office centric social behavior, politics, manipulation and also help create a work gang with cool folks. Go for it! Consider WFH once you become a parent

I am technically 100% remote but choose to go into the office everyday even though my team lives in a different time zone. WFH is cool the first couple of months, but downhill when you start getting lonely and start gaining weight

Yes. WFH is dumb

Early in your career, yes! Network, be visible and volunteer to help others

I don’t see WFH as a negative thing as you all do. It allows me to get the things I would do after the work day, done during the work day. My job has ebbs and flows, so during the downtime I make the most of it. I will consider the move if I get the offer though. There are more details I’m leaving out.

I want to move across state and because of covid there's a lot of temporary-remote and partial-WfH jobs. So it seems like a good time to make the jump. But I'm worried that small companies will still see an out-of-towner as a gamble, even if they're ok with remote work. How do I address this in my cover letter? How much info do I give about why I want to move there & why now? (PS I'm new here and this seemed like the most relevant bowl, please let me know if I should put it somewhere else.)

Still WFH? What are other chambers doing for task management? Our chambers has been keeping up with assignments, incoming emails needing judge’s eyes, and written orders, all through Microsoft Planner. We share PDFs through Sharepoint folders. Although we still email draft orders back and forth, the system seems to work well enough. We still aren’t operating at our previous capacity because it takes 10x the number of steps to get a motion heard or an order entered—90% of our workload.

Working remote, where should I move to? Married + toddler. I like walkable areas (not too suburban). In LA now but it’s just too California- people are kind of annoying & it’s low energy for a big city, not to mention it’s expensive. Lived in Austin previously & loved it, was thinking of going back but prices now are out of control.
