Anyone going to europe for july 4th weekend? How are you going about getting the covid test in europe (to show when coming back to US)?

You can do a rapid antigen test that costs $30 and takes 15 min. Absolutely not a big deal

There’s no CVS in Europe. Test must be taken 3 day max before you return to the US

it depends on whether they accept rapid test or PCR only. At least in Germany, you can get free rapid test in many cities (multiple locations without reservation). However for PCR, you need to book in advance and it’s around 80 euro and will take some time to get the result. They will ask for your flight information to give you the time slot for test.

Then you should be fine. I know at least in Spain and Italy, airports offer rapid test for 30-50 euro. Not really sure about whether Germany offers rapid test in the airport, but you definitely can get free ones in the city.

If you don’t want to deal with finding a testing site in Europe, you can buy an eMed Abbot BinaxNOW test while you’re still in the US and self administer it (while on video with eMed) before you depart Europe. Airlines accept it. See the FAQ in https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html

So I had a some friends who went to Cabo, and when they returned they all(7) took the covid test and came back positive. 5 days later, no one was showing any symptoms so they all went to another clinic and they took the test and they all tested negative. Don’t get me wrong, I wear a mask and take precautions, but when you hear stories like this, you wonder how much of these reported numbers are manipulated or incorrect.

I recently tested positive for COVID. Luckily I feel fine and am working/quarantining at home. However, I told my roommate and she refuses to get tested and is still going into her office on a daily basis (staunch conservative that says she feels fine and has no symptoms). This obviously infuriated me and led to a big fight but she won’t budge. How should I handle this...?
