TFW you realize you need to take PTO at engagement end to take stuff to your parents' house for storage since your new apartment won't fit it all.
Starting a new job soon, with a nice pay bump. Also have been looking for a vacation home for a year now, and we think we found a good one that isn't just flying off the market. Part of me thinks we should go for it, and the other part thinks it's much wiser to wait to make sure I'm actually good at the new job. What do you all think?
Do you include unrealized PTO into your net worth if your company pay it out once terminated/you leave and you don’t lose it at the end of each year? Essentially guaranteed money if you don’t use it so not sure why one wouldn’t include it 🤔
EY Parental leave question: how many weeks were you actually out? When I took my leave 3 years ago, I counted total of 21 weeks of leave. That’s including one firm winter holiday week. I remember I initially thought I would be back after 16 weeks, but then in the middle of my time off I got an email from Leave Team with the breakdown and it actually was 21 weeks. Can someone who took leave recently tell me the actual number of weeks?
Yes, I still take vacation days for video games!
How do I let my future employer know that I have a family vacation that I cannot move 3 months into my new job without them thinking I’m lazy/not hardworking?
Took 3 weeks of PTO... am I supposed to still reply to emails? Or should I be setting boundaries and not responding until I get back? Feeling a bit guilty a week into it 😰
We’re updating policy to unlimited PTO.
I have an interview coming up, and I currently have pto setup for 3 weeks in August-Sept. I have a pensonal trip planned which cost me a good chunk so can't skip the trip. Do I mention in interview?
Do you send a holiday gift card to your admin assistant ? If you do, how much do you send it for?
I got let go from my job while on vacation. Found out through emails removing my access to brand pages and then received confirmation about it. I’m overwhelmed and can’t focus on the positive just yet
What's the etiquette around reminders about pre-Thanksgiving emails/tasks/etc? On one hand, I don't want to be the guy who emails people a reminder at 8am on the Monday after the holiday weekend as if they weren't busy, but on the other hand, the people had 1-3 business days (after considering PTO and holiday time, because the tasks are from the 19th and 22nd) to handle or reply, and they have not yet.
Best “Bonvoy” property in Hawaii for a personal vacation on points? Open to any of the islands.
To all the EY 🐠 here, if you are looking to jump ship after PTO fiasco, holla at me for referral...
Want to tell my boss I’m interested in other areas and want to switch off the project. Any advice on having this conversation and how to prepare? Also they are back from PTO this week, should I hold off telling them until next week?

Tips on maintaining a positive attitude at a job you can’t stand? I hate my current place, but I don’t want to leave yet because of the state of everything. I feel bad even applying when I know other people are actually unemployed and need those jobs.
Deloitte moms, I've heard I can use my well being subsidy on joggers for the baby. What would qualify? Just a jogger or a travel system from uppababy or chicco or a doona carseat stroller?
I have a theoretical question, with the rise of EVs in the upcoming years do you think companies such as autozone will be hiring strategy consultants to adjust their business models?
Any Big 4 fish who are not really pursuing MBB for exit ops... what are your exit goals?? And for what reasons? Trying to find options other than chasing MBB

Thinking about getting a dog. Always wanted one and now I have plenty of time to care for it. But once life resumes I’m not sure. I can’t afford a daily dog walker. Do they really need a midday walk? Thought I could do a walk in the morning, right after work and before bed. I would work from home 2 days a week so could do midday walks then.
What is a polite way to handle referral requests from strangers/acquaintances with whom you haven’t worked in a sufficient capacity ? I am a noogler and often get approached for a quick chat on my role/opportunities at google which turns into a referral request. I understand that one should be able to speak to the candidate’s skillset but given how everyone in going through a challenging time during the pandemic I wanted to understand the best way to make the conversation less uncomfortable
This consulting grind is getting old. What would it take to change the entire consulting culture?
When a child is sitting in the window seat next to you and you have to endure a four hour flight in the middle seat because of last minute flight changes...alcohol, give me strength 🥃
Been living in NY the past 3 years at an agency. Im interviewing for a role in LA and excited/nervous. Felt like I didn’t really get to experience NYC because of the pandemic and now I might be leaving. Good opportunity, but have never been lived in the west coast and not sure how to decide. Advice ? Anyone going through it too?
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
Voyage Bakery @LGA should be renamed "Consultants corner" - We're the only clientele! 😁😁
