Anyone going to try to push to continue working remotely post-covid? Once daycare and school is back in session, working from home seems lovely and clearly we don’t need to be in the office.

Seems like firms will have a hard time saying no given we have effectively worked from home for almost a full year now.

I am not. I will be advocating for return to the office. I hate WFH. The interaction with others is my fav part of the job.

I’m down to go in on Fridays for team lunches and all hands meetings. But rather put my head down Monday through Thursday.

I want to continue to WFH 3 days a week. If my boss says no I'll quit. Honestly, with a lower salary and no bonus the only way they'll incentivize me to stay is if I get unbeatable flexibility.

I think it will be more challenging for those working on a team to be fully remote. We’ve all gotten by this past year, but it’s not been great for bonding as a team. Plus the on the job coaching is harder in a fully remote environment. That said, I’ve been remote for 5+ years at EY but had to work really hard to engage with those in my department and on my team. I also travelled 1-2 times a month to still develop in person relationships. So it can be done, but I think it will take the right role and the right person before the company will allow it.

I think it will be interesting to see how development of new young professionals pans out in professional services. You need to engage young people in person in this industry somewhat (they also prob don’t have apartments as big as their supervisors!) and to do that you can’t just have partners and associates in the office space. That being said, I think that flexibility and work remote will continue to evolve and you will never be able to close the curtain on the virtual workspace. I think it will be longer than summer 2021 that people are comfortable and safe going to offices/bars/trains/sporting events and there is no way a firm will take on the liability of forcing you to return to an office space you are not comfortable returning to esp when you can service your clients from home.

Definitely agree that professional services and that generation are able to adapt, with some more structure around learning and training. But I get the sense something is lacking in their experience. Some of the A1 I work with are living with their parents still and they want the experience of being on their own and having their first job. Me, at my level, I don’t care about making friends, happy hours, gossiping, or after work outings!

I’ve already told the partner in charge of my department that once everything is ‘normal’ again I’m going to be working part time in office and part time at home probably 2/3 ratio. She already okayed it

I'm working from home now and my 2 year old starts daycare on Monday - looking forward to it!! I'm based in LA and many daycares are still open while taking tremendous precautions to avoid outbreaks. Our daycare has never had a case.

Same here in OC

Already got it approved!

My boss said he does not foresee us ever being back in office 5 days a week. He suggested 3 max and I am loving that idea.

My plan is to go to at least 2 days a week WFH once we're "back in office"but I did one day a week before. Once I can get training new staff figured out a bit better I want to work from home most of the time.

I switched to a permanent “Home Office” employee during the pandemic. When things open up, I’ll likely fly a few times a quarter for in person meetings and collaborations. I do know that it will be challenging but if I need to adapt (again), I will!

Also, how long it takes to get base location changed through HR in TCS?

Tech ladies that work in fintech: what do you wear to work, and how casual or formal is your dress code? Are they strict on makeup, visible tattoos or hair colour? I’ve taken a design job in a major bank, and am trying to figure what the dress code is. All my experience has been international consulting and freelance, and since Covid I’ve been only WFH. Nobody has voiced concern about what I’ve always worn, but I want to be conscious of the culture and not stick out too much at the beginning

Hey friends, I was laid off (due to COVID) from Accenture a month ago as an analyst. I had a pretty good network of SM, MD and managers that I talked to frequently before. However once I was laid off, I got depressed and haven’t reached out to any of them. I feel horrible but I’m trying to push myself out of my depression and make some positive changes. My fear is that at this point, I’m just a number and that they don’t care. It’s causing me anxiety and I’m telling myself it’s too late now.
