Getting one Monday....I’ll let you know.

I still don’t even get haircuts and I am in NY where it’s pretty much under control...

like

I feel safer getting a massage than dining indoors. Mask on.

Are we talking with or without a happy ending?

Some ppl with my humor some don’t. Accept it 👍

I got one last week. I’ve been super strict about staying in but my back was KILLING me. I felt really good - I waited in my car until they called me in, everybody was masked and the place was clean/sanitized. I didn’t have to wear a mask when I was face down, but wore it when I was face up. It was a nice experience and I felt really safe.

like

Agreed. My experience was similar.

I think an important consideration is the rate of your local community spread. Ours is low (hovering at 1ish Rt) so I just went for my second yesterday with precautions mentioned in other posts. If transmission starts to climb, I'm putting on the breaks for a bit.

Yes and I’ve been pretty safe. Masks required, pillowcase under the headrest to help protect the masseuse as well and was easy to breathe for me

like

Pillowcase - great idea!

Yes. I didn’t go until case counts were lower (very low in this borough), went to a place that is appointment only, already spaces out their appointments and only has two rooms. Felt very safe. E.g. they put throw sheets on all of the furniture in the waiting area and change them before the next guest.

I've been skipping hair color and facials and am absolutely miserable without them, but probably not as miserable as I would be if I got COVID. So roots and dull skin it is.

like

My acupuncturist does a house call for me and my spouse, that’s as close as I will get to getting a massage.

I’m wondering the same. I haven’t gotten a haircut but I have been doing P/T so I’m taking a risk every day. A massage sounds amazing but I wonder if I’d be stressed the entire time about covid.

@Director, did you live?

Yes, on a massage chair not bed. It was the most amazing feeling, the right pressure, release of tense muscle...nail salon in nyc with the best masseuse. Also got hair done, wore masks. No virus so far (I get tested monthly)

Yes. We both wore masks and they wore gloves.

I did. I have chronic back pain so I didn’t want to wait any longer. Temperature checks, extra sanitizing/ air filters in rooms, masks worn by all.

We stopped our monthly massages when the shops closed. They reopened in May and have stricter cleaning policies. Masks for entirety of massage. They do temp checks on everyone and stagger appointments so you are social distant from other patients. They also wash the face cradle and sheets after each appt. which is what they should do anyway. Also, just don’t stick your fingers in your eyes or mouth after, and shower after. We have resumed our monthly appointments since May and feel safe. Note: this is our only out of the house activity besides take out food.

I did two (one in June one in August) and I was fine. I live in Ny

Mid life crisis maybe? I recently sold my house (mid renovation, was just sick of it) so now I am renting. I don't like my city, I am just here for the job. I don't really like that either, I had the job to pay for my house. I had a house because I had a lot of stuff. I have learned due to covid I can live happily out of my van/camper. I have no plan for kids and have decided I am happiest solo. Wtf do I do now? Feeling very aimless. Like I could probably coast-retire n live on $20k/yr.

I’ve been in the industry for about 20 years, hundreds of pitches, dozens of speaking events at big shows. I used to be a natural when presenting. Fluid, clever and insightful while keeping it friendly and conversational. Since covid and WFH my presentation focus is totally off. Low energy, nervous, dry mouth, reading off slides, hard to keep my mind in the bigger picture or focus on the story. Womp womp. Really getting me down and not sure how to get the magic back. Depressing.

We are experiencing more behavioral issues from all students bringing our Administration, Middle School Building Principal to create a Discipline Team. I am on the team. I am a SPED teaher. Youth's emotional worth and ability to learn communication, working, socializing with peers during Middle School especially, was ceased. Our students, due to COVID-19, are acting nearly 2 years behind their maturity level. This is a fact across the USA. Guessing, across the world.
