You’re beautiful the way you are .
Yes. And very happy with the results. Sometimes plastic surgery is medically necessary due to other issues, and if you happen to benefit cosmetically and enjoy the results from it, then so be it. And if you want plastic surgery simply bc it makes you feel good, then you should get it.
I don’t remember OP asking for judgements about her body, or how she SHOULD feel. She asked for experiences.
So my experience: do your homework. See more than 1 Dr for a consult to do a chemistry check. Yes, that consult costs money, but one guy who was ‘excellently reputed’ started telling me all the things that were wrong with me and drawing circles all over my body of fat he wanted to remove (in places I don’t have it). I walked out. The dr I chose was conservative, listened well, had books and books of photos of clients in his office showing before and afters, and set realistic expectations.
Do what makes you feel good. The dr can’t give you another patient’s info bc of HIPA. But you can ask the dr if s/he would ask a former patient if she would be willing to talk to you about the process. If she calls you if her own accord after that request, then the dr hasn’t violated anything. Perhaps he won’t, but you can ask for something like that. Be careful on the Internet. There are horror stories everywhere.
Depending on what you’re having done, have someone available to care for you. Recovery takes time and can be painful.
Lastly, don’t try to save money. This isn’t a place to cheap out.
Be safe and go with your gut. Good luck.
^^ I mean, yes, sure. Thank you so much. I fully appreciate it and I know I’m beautiful and dope the way I am in this very moment.
But I’m still likely going to get some work done and would love to hear other people’s experiences.
Plastic surgery should be to repair or fix a major problem. If you’ve made it this far, then you don’t have a major problem and are trying to just un-age. In that case, it generally looks terrible. Get more facials. Do Botox if you like, take care of you skin and your body and love it. Think of all it does for you. (Lipo is dangerous I think, just do yoga or spin or whatever to feel strong and get those endorphins and look how you look, which I’m sure is natural, wonderful and just fine!)
EP 1 has good advice. I’ve gotten lipo twice, four years apart. I live in the NYC area and went to expensive surgeons (not trying to sound like a jerk, just trying to frame up my experience.) I’m naturally curvy, played sports forever, then had trouble losing weight after I stopped. Here’s what I had done.
First time: tummy, arms and inner thighs. The most noticeable part of this procedure was in my arms. If I had to do this over, I wouldn’t have done my tummy, nobody’s stomach heals right. I have some dimpling that’s truly only noticeable to me, but I wish I had a softer stomach instead.
Second time: that little strip of leg under my butt, shaping around my hips, inner thighs, with more focus toward my knees. All truly small lipo touches but they made a huge difference. I too had the experience EP detailed with him circling all kinds of stuff, but they were small spots that made a huge difference. Much preferred the results of this round.
Tl;dr: I never regret the lipo I had. It did incredible wonders for my self esteem. Comparing the two experiences, trust the doctor when they recommend attacking small spots vs. crazy overhaul lipo of your whole stomach. Feel free to privately DM or ask me specific questions here
Botox is amazing.
Also you can be beautiful the way you are and still have plastic surgery. Do what makes you feel good
If your doing something do a boob job. Even if you are man. You can be a cool boobed man. 😎
Stop redditing
Yep. Boob job like 10 years ago. I was oddly flat and wanted to feel like a female. Probably THE best money I ever spent, I feel like a new person even years later.
Thanks to everyone who has shared experiences!! Really appreciate it and totally would love to hear more!
I also had a breast reduction, best thing to ever happen to me. Really changed my perspective on plastic surgery as a whole. Do you, OP!
Not me, but my sister in law just had liposuction on her hips, thighs, and stomach in September. She already regrets it. Recovery and pain are horrific and she is not symmetrical. Like, at all. And she went to a renowned doctor in Beverly Hills, not some backwoods scrub.
Everyone I know that got lipo regrets it. Everyone I know that got Botox loves it. Thinking about juvederm this year for me
TBWA - I already am a very healthy individual. I work out on a regular basis. I also do not have low self confidence. I love myself and can love myself and have high self confidence while considering plastic surgery. The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
Also all my friends who have done coolsculpting has said it’s the biggest scam...have you had cool sculpting? Would love to get your thoughts if you’re recommending it! Thanks!
Had breast reduction surgery a few years ago and worth every penny I didn’t pay (covered by insurance due to back problems caused by the huge knockers I was lugging around). I’d get a tummy tuck if I could afford it. I could spend 24/7 at the gym and still have a muffin top. I’d get rhinoplasty, but people would notice. 👃🏼
The wife had lipo to extract fat for a boob job - she said it was the worst pain ever and the longest time to heal. And she has a high threshold for pain!
Go juvederm, Botox and cool sculpt for subtle upgrades.
Any more than that and you should probably consider the gym - that alone will boost your self confidence
Sorry OP, didn’t mean to suggest or connect plastic surgery with low self confidence/self esteem, merely that IMHO subtlety from the aforementioned methods is preferable to extreme surgical correction (think Botched!) where old fashioned diet/exercise are probably the better option for a physical and mental boost.
But I have a friend who underwent cool sculpting on stubborn fat pockets with great success. It’s very slow, but non invasive and seems to be working.
I’m also looking at a bit of first time juvederm and Botox myself so following this thread with interest.
Thanks, TBWA! I too am terrified of being botched lol I’ve seen all the horror stories so I completely understand the concern. Plus I know people do go into it looking for a quick fix so don’t worry! I’ve been considering this for quite some time after completely overhauling my diet and exercise.
I’m also considering some small Botox and juvederm! I have a consultation tomorrow. Will keep you posted
Botox is the bomb. Had a tummy tuck after 2 kids that were almost 10 lbs each - best thing I ever did. No regrets!
SAD1 thank you I don’t have any tattoos or an accent and I’ve been looking for a gimmick!
Thanks for calling me a gimmick tho.
Make sure you look into how long it lasts. It can be a very painful procedure from what I hear and unless you change some of the lifestyle factors that got you where you are today, it could come back in ways you didn’t expect. I hope this doesn’t sound judgy in the least bit because I don’t mean it to be. Just look into it first
