I did, although she was also born at 25 weeks. She was in the 10th percentile, born weighing just over one pound. She spent 15 weeks in the NICU due to her early birth but came home with no complications. How big do they think your baby is now?
Thank you!
Yes my baby was iugr was born at 38 and 6 days she was born at 4lbs2 oz and spent some time in the NICU, she’s a healthy soon to be 7 year old! Prayers for a safe delivery!
I just googled IUGR. I pray you have a healthy baby and delivery!
Thank you!
I did! They didn’t realize until she was born that’s what was going on. She was small 5 lbs 10 ounces. She was breech and in my 38 week ultrasound they saw she was 10% and not moving so they took her out. It was terrifying not knowing what was going on but once she came out she was fine! Turns out my uterus was heart shaped. I also had that corrected a year later and then had an 8lb 8 ounce boy!
I had an IUGR baby, also asymmetrical, she was 4lbs 15oz at birth (full-term, induced at 39 weeks as they were worried she was small and didn’t want her in there for longer). Baby was perfectly healthy, came home after the standard two days, no health issues. Is a poor eater though at 16 months now. Was born less than 1st percentile and is now in the 2nd percentile.
Looking back, I wish I hadn’t spent the last two months of my pregnancy freaking out about the baby’s health and super anxious
Our first was an IUGR baby plus preeclampsia so he arrived early. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Good news is you’ll qualify for extra monitoring.
I did! We didn’t find out until later in my pregnancy but ended up going in for an emergency csection at 38 weeks. He was a tiny thing (4 lb 14 oz) but perfectly healthy and was able to come home with us after the standard 2-3 days post delivery. 😊 He’s now a perfectly healthy (and 90% + tall!) 5 year old boy. Have faith and let me know if you have any specific questions.

I had an IUGR baby. She was below the 3rd %tile for weight. I was induced at 37 weeks and the baby was only 4 pounds 11 ounces. Oddly, at the 20 week ultrasound she was 50% for weight, so this was very unexpected. She spent 9 days in the NICU after birth due to low blood sugar, which is a common problem for IUGR babies. Without any stored fat, they don't have any reserves to pull from, so they can have difficulty regulating their blood sugar. It was tough having her in the NICU but the problem corrected itself, and she was never in any real danger. She's now very healthy, developmentally on track, and of completely normal height and weight. Hang in there! Hope your visit with the specialist goes well.
