Thoughts on working in admissions for a top 20 MBA program? Want to eventually work 100% remote and feel like a move to admissions consulting would be super easy after 5-10 years.
What TV channel/ shows you guys have going on in the background while you work from home - for stress release / avoid anxiety
Not proud of it, but I was hooking up with a co-worker/friend pre-COVID. I left the state when wfh started and we still talk every day, but nothing romantic. He made it clear at the beginning that he didn’t want to date because we’re co-workers. Stung a bit when I went on a dating app this morning and saw his profile. The rational part of me knows we’re only ever going to be buddies and that if he actually wanted me, then he’d make something happen. Looking for advice on how to get over this.
I've found that wfh makes it so I never know when I'm hungry anymore. I wake up right before work, I'm in one spot most of the day, then when I clock out and start moving around more, I'm starving.
Till when WFH for EY GDS Bangalore?
Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
Anyone from EY WFH outside the US? Thinking of doing it for a few days, but not sure if I should tell my team since firm policy states we must be in the country.
Okay I’m going to say it if hasn’t been said before: I want the option to go back to the office now. I get some of you have kids or prefer wfh but I can’t stand it. I hate being cramped up and some people also live with toxic family members. We should make it optional for those who want/need to come back
It looks like the initial WFH productivity was actually driven by fear of losing one’s job, not necessarily because WFH is better. https://www.wsj.com/articles/companies-start-to-think-remote-work-isnt-so-great-after-all-11595603397
Do we need to file for a new H1B amendment or LCA if I am going to be starting on a new client? Given that we are all WFH and there’s no need to be at the client site anymore ?
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but does anyone have an eating disorder and find this way of life incredibly triggering? I was doing so much better when I was remote and local, and now that I'm always traveling, I'm not doing so hot.
So I just found out I'm pregnant and need to tell my employer eventually (it's still quite early). Since this is WFH, I can obviously keep this to myself for much longer. When is the appropriate time to tell my company? (I have a good relationship with them.)
Why do you freelance? How else can I maximize my freelance status? More $$, work whenever/as often as you like, remote work, pick preferred projects, work on multiple clients...more?
How do y’all stay motivated during this time? (Still full time WFH, usually a high performer but I’m exhausted) 🆘
Anyone here work BlackRock ? How have you liked it? Are y’all remote? What are the benefits like? What are average raises and bonuses like?
The belief that you should be able to move from HCOL to LCOL and not have to take a pay cut is ultimate in socioeconomic and geographic privilege and outright entitlement. Nobody is going to give LCOL a raise to move to HCOL. The work you do is the same, you produce the same value, bill the same rate as peers in another geography. Take a pay cut or give LCOL a significant raise.
Do not go to the domestic terminal in ATL. TSA has made it a complete cluster fuck. Precheck line is past the restaurants in the atrium.
Interviewing for copywriter position, I applied a year ago and was declined based on my book and site. I updated it, and they liked it this time. Is this a gut check or should I expect the wringer?
I’m unable to focus on work and I keep dropping the ball on some projects. I hate to put this on my personal life but I’ve experienced three family deaths (including a parent) and a death of a good friend all within the last five months. I feel like I should have taken significant time off but I think now it’s too late with end of the year financials etc. Does anyone have any tips on how to bounce back up?
Anyone use Ivy MBA consulting? http://www.ivymbaconsulting.com/ I’m between them and Harold at MissionMBA (stratus before)
What industry has the most excitable culture? I'm not talking about working until 2AM as a norm for perfect decks. Rather, what industry has the most people who get so amped they'll go overtime all the time just cause, without an expectation that everyone always grinds in the name of a deliverable they know is trivial. My hunch is tech startups, maybe traders, but idk... Asking consulting bowl cause no one else gets as much cross-industry exposure. And hey, maybe consulting still wins out!
I had the most charge hours of anyone in my office (over 250 consulting staff) for the 2020 calendar year. Is this something I can/should reflect on my resume that could look good in the interview process?
Any insights on Protiviti’s data and analytics space? and also on so called ‘WLB’? 9years in analytics in Big 4 and looking to switch if that helps.
Google Technical Solutions Consultant interview process... can I expect a process similar to google Software engineering interviews? Or is it less technical?
Anyone have any insight on the culture/personality differences between the Northeast and SoCal?
Has anyone from MBB worked at the same client where there is one of the big 4 ? How are the dynamics between the two in that engagement?

Hi, I am bringing together a team through a reorg any suggestions on how to bring a new team together remotely?
I’m extremely burnt out, exhausted, and my mental health is plummeting by the day. I know this is happening across all agencies and I’m ready to change it up and go in-house. Any suggestions for best in-house place to work?
Got offered my dream job - but want the comp to be higher. How do I go about negotiating without being too aggressive? They offered 100k and the initial range they gave was 95-110
