Anyone has thoughts on what the working environments are like for audit in RSM and BDO? Tech, colleagues, partners, anything! I'm a newbie and still not sure which firm I want to join yet. DC and VA.

Smaller firms can work just as much as big 4. It really depends on the team.

Come to BDO! You’ll love ❤️ it here. I’m sure some have said that within the past year there were tons that have left from BDO. True. But some have actually boomeranged back. Also, there were tons of new experiences hired within this past month. The new leadership team in the Greater Washington Office is doing a good job with recruiting and scheduling for busy season. Depending on the team you’re interested in. I don’t think you’ll need to work over 60 hours in busy season. DM me if you want more details or have questions

Wait you've been repeating the Kool aid and selling BDO on here every chance you get...but you're suggesting you'll reconsider this all based on what salary RSM might offer? Your responses here say everything, clearly your opinion doesn't have much meaning. I'm sorry to be blunt! Because the bottom line is this...they paid you a premium to join, as they are paying all new hires - what you're getting paid for your level is absolutely more than someone who's been at that office for at least the last year. And that's the truth - pay is what matters, all the other Kool aid comes second. So I'm sure you're happy for now...wait another year though when they're paying new people more than you (and giving you a shit bonus...), while you're 2x as productive as the new folks. And this "new leadership" isn't really so new, more like recycled. There's a reason they're hiring so much, so many people left because they weren't happy. And again, you can absolutely have a great experience - most will, but there's always some that won't. Depends on the audit and teams you're on. But maybe try to contain your excitement for a while until you are sure about yourself and know how it is when push comes to shove...

You can scroll down the posts and you’ll read most people who moved to RSM state their experience to be positive. I came from PwC. It’s trite, but if you’re looking for teams and people that aren’t after each other’s neck to get the higher rating, RSM is for you.

Deloitte is also on the list, but I don't want to work 80+/week during the season....

^I agree with D1, I personally worked more at a national firm than I do at Deloitte

Don’t go to another firm looking for WLB because you won’t find it there

Hi Folks,

Salary range for an OCM Manager at Deloitte?

Filed a complaint in early May, they filed a motion to dismiss timely, and I responded in a timely fashion as well. During my research on the motion to dismiss I realize that I had cited a section of the statute that I now feel applies less than a different section.

What is my duty to the court? I do feel that both sections of the statute can likely apply, and admittedly the section that applies better I feel has a lower burden of proof.

Can I file a motion for leave to amend post response?

Do you record your unbillable time? I have had conflicting responses. I have been told it's not good for efficiency calculations but others have told me if your still doing work let people know. For example, I get weird international stuff sometimes that not everyone gets (I think maybe? ) and I need to reread the 5471 rules or 8865 rules as I do the returns. I have been told not to bill for this but if I didn't have to spend time to do such things my billable hours would be higher
