Anyone have a good barber in DC? I’ve been here for about three years and still haven’t managed to find a place that can give me a quality conservative, mid length cut

Diego’s in Dupont Circle- $25 with tip, great cut every time

like

Ernesto’s at Van Ness.

Born and raised in dc and have had him cut my hair my entire life. Nothing fancy. $20. Good guy.

Barber of Hells Bottom. $70 haircuts but they come with a complimentary trim 4 weeks after

"Signature cuts and shaves" if you're into more modern cuts. Diego's is great if you're looking for a 20th century look

B&C Hair Style...I can never remember the name, just looked it up

like

Camillo's in Tenleytown, on Wiaconsin near intersection with Nebraska. Classic old school, no-frills joint. Same barbers there since I graduated college...in 1997.

Ultimate barber in Potomac yards is absolutely worth leaving the city for

Not technically DC, but Willy and Habib's in Clarendon is great. Habib is worth the wait.

Second habib

Wise Owl Club in AdMo. No appointments. Wash and cut is $45 but they take their time. Never had a complaint in 3 years.

Puglisis near Foggy Bottom. Four Italian guys, cash only and nothing extra. Solid hair cut for about $30.

Diego’s is garbage and I would never spend $70 on a haircut. Go see Kesha at Bang Salon in Logan Circle. You’ll look great for $37.

Diego’s is a DC staple and certainly better than a $37 + tip for an entry level stylist at Bang

Diego’s is fantastic you’re out of your mind. I have had 4 different stylists at least once and every single one has been great. It’s not the place if you like doing weird ass “artsy” shit with your hair, sure, but the OP asked for a barber, not a salon.

Lol at anyone wanting a “more modern cut.” Diego’s is great, been going there for years. There’s also another place on 18th near S (by lauriol plaza) which is also great, similar prices and they’re open when Diego’s is closed.

What’s it called?

Coursera:

Cons:
- Definitely toxic: talented people disappear without warning or explanation.
- Management aggressively micromanages with hidden agendas and unrealistic expectations.
- Very passive aggressive tactics used to drive results. Miserable experience.

Pros: ?

like

The Home Depot (from a previous vendor)

Cons:

- Interfaced with a few different people, all of whom seemed miserable.

- Very rigid brand — difficult to have fun.

- There’s not much trust or freedom for anyone. Just a cutthroat corporate prison.

- HQ built like a prison: few windows, thick security, & drab colors for miles. Their campus parking garage would experience its own rush hour gridlock with cars at a standstill waiting for the light outside to turn green so they could hop on 285

Facebook

Pros:
- pays very well and has good perks

Cons:
- Sr. VoIP Engineer w/ their head in the sand
- Totally bias management
- Poor content moderation, extremist content, inauthentic engagement, weakening democratic norms, amplifying divisive rhetoric, prolific scams, risk of identity theft... the list goes on and on.

Apple

Pros:
- astounding financial benefits, great healthcare

Cons:

- too many cultists
- closed culture with extremely compartmentalized information, working on a small piece of the puzzle, with reduced ability to demonstrate true value, unless already high up.
- collaboration across teams is made unusually difficult and doesn’t seem encouraged.
- not remote friendly -- making everyone go back

Does anyone else get massive bruises after lifting? Not from scraping shins against the bar or anything but just popping blood vessels from a heavy set. I always thought this was pretty normal but some people seem really freaked out by it.
