Facing a career decision: do I take the pay raise, or the position that I'm more interested in?
Fastest promotion from A to SA that you know?
Getting ready to sign my contract and raise my right hand for National Guard. I have yet to tell my manager out of fear they try to let me go before I am “officially” in service.
Hi Guys, can anyone tell me when does a promotion take effect (officially) for PwC SDC Bangalore?
Ladies I have been reflecting on something that's been bothering me a lot. Women are not getting promoted to manager fast enough. I am up for promotion this year and it feels hard to get your name out
Trying to raise my income to six figgies in the next 2 years from 80k. Consultant, fed, advisory. Anyone have any advice?
Negotiating tips at year-end review for getting an above-average raise? Or do numbers speak for themselves?
Raise your hand if your take-home is upsetting compared to your gross pay 🙋🏼♂️🙋🏽♂️🙋🏼♂️🙋🏼♀️
Have you ever run into a situation where you asked for more money (either a raise or when negotiating an offer) and you got it and regretted it? What are the strings attached to more $?
Went from wanting to only focus on my career and not even wanting kids to now wanting to be a SAHM while I raise kids and go back into a more relaxed job. Has anyone else had a crazy shift in thinking like that? Been single this whole time, so no one is influenting this
14 months into my first agency job and I’ve been told from my CDs that I’ve been recommended for a raise. What should I ask for? I’m making 58k now and have had a bunch of work produced.
Manager 1. Transfer from audit into FDD (and have to do one more busy season in audit), or leave to a financial reporting job at a large public co for 40% raise?
Question— do you share your comp with close friends? Me and my roommate have been friends forever and while I don’t really share my specific pay, Im not sure if I should share it with her. When she got promoted she told me her comp tho I didn’t ask. Today I found out I was promoted (🎉) and left that part out. She asked me if I knew what my raise would be and I just told her the % but not the actual amount. Is that unnecessarily secretive? We’re in diff industries too.
Anyone here in consulting? I just got a job offer after some interviews that's a 47% raise from my current comp, but as a new father in his late 30s just wondering if the time away might be terrible. It's slalom consulting (emerge) which emphasizes work life balance and all that but just wanted to get y'all's thoughts.
Is it normal for a Partner to tell me “you know this will delay your promotion by 6 months” a day before my STD for mental health reasons? (P.S. He assumed I took the leave for mental health reasons although I never mentioned that to him). He also said “people like you leave and never come back so make sure you talk to your sponsors before making any decision, there are people who are excited to work with you”.. the conversation is on replay in my head
As someone who has only worked at EY and has no other work experience or “passion,” how do I begin looking? I’m a high performer in CA with a cpa and working in tax but I don’t feel like I have enough time for myself with all the extra work from people leaving during the never ending busy seasons. I’m in my mid twenties and feel like work is my life. I think I’ll be satisfied with six figures for a while, which I’d be pretty close to after my raise in October anyways, and 40 hour work weeks.
Is it beneficial to wait for a promotion (~6 months out) prior to interviewing with FAANG or apply earlier?
When is it time to go client side from agency? I’m not looking for a new role but a contact has a contract to full time placement that is for a stable company and sounds like a significant pay raise. My current agency has good benefits, I liked the work pre-covid. Now raises and promotions are paused, and they’re very hesitant to hire with no end in sight. I’m not sure it’s worth it to hang around.
Considering leaving hectic agency to an in house creative team at a relatively unknown tech startup. I’ll get a significant raise and a better work environment but still on the fence. Thoughts?
Anyone else ever been involved in negotiating key comp agreements with people at a target pre-close and realize you’re wildly underpaid compared to what some of those folks are getting, even though your role is more senior in the organization?
I've been passed up for promotion. I know that if my mental health had been better this past year, I probably would have been promoted. Spent too many days just trying to survive rather than excel. 😡
Do you stay at a good firm with a good reputation where you are siloed in a back office role with no growth or go to a lesser known firm with less track record and opportunity to learn and grow? I’m in an extremely operational role and want to leave but the benefits down the line could be grand. How do you evaluate a decision like this?
First phone technical interview with google for SWE (Software Engineer) role. Would like some insight on what to expect and how to do well?
Best alternative to Hilton loyalty? And will they match my status? Getting fed up with Hilton's poor customer service.
What's better: senior product manager at Amazon, or Director at a large pharma company? Long term goals are fuzzy, but would like to stick in the health-tech space Comp is about the same
Ready to start day 2 WFH with my inspiration mug. What does your coffe mug say this morning?
Curious to know how married couples are splitting us responsibilities now that we WFH basically nonstop. I find myself doing a lot more although we’re both just as busy (cooking / cleaning)
Why is it that the job you really want has a long, drawn out interview process but the one you want least is eager for you to interview with the team tomorrow!? 🙃
Currently on parental leave. As a father I’m so dang thankful my firm has it and I can’t imagine how my immigrant parents manage to raise two kids without leave.
