Anyone have a recruiter or recruiting company they would recommend? I want to make the switch to in house but not having much luck. I have 15 YOE in commercial lit, but very little exposure to many of the tech programs that are mentioned in nearly all job postings (slack, ironclad, etc)….my firm isn’t as tech savvy as it should be…..(cross posted in the Paralegals bowl as well)

If you’re a commercial litigator, in my experience, you generally need a background in employment law to get hired in-house.

like

Work with the lawyers at your firm and see which clients might be looking. That’s the most effective way to do it.

like

Recruiters usually focus on law firms rather than in-house. Most everyone I know who works in-house got there from representing that company as external counsel or was personally referred

like

Taylor Root - they have a recruiting team dedicated to in-house roles.

I worked with them for my move in-house.

like

We have motion sensor lights in my office and the sensor is far from my desk. Consequently, if I'm on a long WebEx, the lights go out and it's embarrassing. The building won't change the sensor. Anyone find a solution for this (aside from standing up and moving, which would be very awkward)? I can't rearrange my office.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) I’ve been asking partners if I can assist in any projects so I can fill my plate, but I’ve only gotten small (4-6 hour) tasks handed my way.

I am on notice period and I am 100% sure that project won't be completed before my LWD.

What should I do, I asked him to put some extra team members but he didn't agree, seems like he will add extra team members 2-3 weeks before my LWD.

Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
