Anyone have a success story/suggestion with correcting back/posture issues? Have done massages and chiro fairly routinely. Have tried to change up desk situation to be more ergonomically friendly. Tried switching up sleep positions. Would love to throw away phone and not have tech neck contributing but not a reality with work/mom life. Nothing seems to really help and don’t want to just heal symptoms with meds. Is getting to the point where sitting for work is almost impossible.

Have you tried physical therapy? Also going to a spine specialist to do some X-rays or MRI in case something else is causing it. It’s not going to be cheap and may not help. I found out I had bertolotti syndrome after my lower back was killing me when I stand and PT wasn’t helping. I’m not a candidate for a surgery at the moment but I started researching exercises for my diagnosis and trying them, plus joint injections and it’s been getting better. Focus on strengthening posture muscles, shockingly some exercises post pregnancy pelvic floor have helped tremendously

Physical therapy, pilates, and/or barre are the only things that worked for me! Sitting in a good chair helps to not exacerbate problems, as do not sitting or standing for long periods, but the underlying problem stays there until you give your spine the support it needs by strengthening the muscles around it

Or something is really wrong and you need surgery, but any decent chiropractor would be able to tell you if they think that’s the case

I have a small congenital defect at the base of my spine and going to barre 2x per week keeps me pain free at this point

You should try Pilates or 3D Pilates. There are many Instagram pages with free few minutes stretches. You can also buy subscriptions once you find someone you like. I’ve been doing it for over a year now (max 30 min a day) not even every day. Can’t believe breathing and stretching can do those miracles! No back pain and posture definitely got better, sitting is not an issue anymore. Best part of it is - it’s quick, easy, mostly no need of equipment.

I would say phone of course, weirdly enough my back problems got better when I stopped working in bed and actually invested in a proper chair. I would also recommend yoga and pilates like others have to strengthen yourself - a lot of that pain may stem from muscle weakness

Yoga worked for me, but I wasn't having extreme pain before.

Yoga has the only thing I’ve seen real success with but it is hard for me to prioritize these days

I used Upright. It attaches to your skin or hangs like a necklace and vibrates when you slouch. It helped me be more cognizant of my posture. Worked better for me than a fabric brace.

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

Need some advice/ thoughts: a year ago the the person I thought it was the love of my life dumped me. She went radio silent and hasn’t spoken to me since. So recently I noticed that on our classes WhatsApp (we met during our EMBA) and I noticed she comments whenever I comment. About three weeks ago people stated posting summer get together pics and she didn’t comment on any of them. And then another classmate posted a Muslim holiday post…no comment. And she always comments on those. Continue:

Would you recommend Sedona during Christmas or San Diego during Christmas with a 1.5 year old? Entertainment, safety, meaningful experience-focused.

Sedona will be much colder, possibly snowing/icy and will be hiking, hot tub, enjoying the scenery focused. San Diego will be beach, enjoying scenery focused. Both Airbnb options look beautiful. Will also have 60 year old grandparents joining

Stupid question but getting a divorce now and having a hard time figuring out what to do with sentimental things such as wedding pictures, travel pics, ornaments we bought together, etc. What did you do? Relationship was over 12 years and don’t know what to do. Should I jus pretend that those 12 years never happened or she was not there?

Divorce is amicable and based on growing apart rather than bc of cheating or fighting or anything else..

When picking a life partner would you (as a guy) be ok with compromising for a girl who’s not very career oriented or ambitious but has a great heart, mentality, and flexibility?

I am on PTO this week and my manager keeps Slacking, texting and emailing me asking questions that I believe can wait until next next week. She has also asked me to take a minute and send a quote. I am trying to do better and when I take PTO I’m focused on really taking time off and spending time with my family. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

I keep seeing posts about people exiting for these crazy pay increases. I’m here to keep it real. I’m considering a few offers which would be pay cuts. Shocked? Appalled? Here me out - life can be about more than just money. Consulting life isn’t for everyone long term. If it’s for you, great! But I’m looking to spend more time with my family, not be constantly stress, and feel like I’m not always at the whim of a client. These choices are so personal and only you can decide what’s best for you
