Question on H-1B and LCA. 1) If one lives in New Jersey and works in New York and LCA is already filed and confirmed for H-1B, do they need to file another LCA with home address now that they work from home due to covid? 2) Also, for state tax withholding, HR might need to update “employer work location” on HR profile. Here's a hypo I need help with: A and B are both on deed. prior to 2020, B conveyed his interest to C. Then, sometime after 2020, both A and B tried to convey their interest to D (presumably an attempt to convey the remaining 1/2 interest left, but not how it reads or is recorded). Clearly, B did not have any interest left to convey since he gave it to C already. Is the conveyance by A to D still effective, even if B was included in the deed and has no interest left?

Just conducted my first deposition and did not go as I had hoped. Was the 3rd named defendant so had to limit my time (around 2 hours) and the witness was so aloof (basically answered “I don’t know” to everything). I should have been firmer in my questioning and pushed even harder. Boss, who was watching, said don’t worry about it and it went exactlty how a first depo is supposed to go. But I’m still beating myself up and feel like I let him down...

I don’t work in big law, but some of my classmates,who are going into big law, are bragging about the low number of billable hours they are required to hit. I’m hearing 1,600-1,800 billable hours. Is this actually true? Are some firms paying Cravath and only requiring 1,600 for the year? I know it depends on the firm, but can anyone actually confirm this is their experience? If so, then I’m a little jealous 🙃

I worked/billed a ton last week and Monday and Tuesday this week, and then today I didn’t have any meetings or anything and just hit a brick wall - I slept until 10am and just dealt with accumulating non-billable stuff for almost all of the day. Now I feel terrible about it. How do you keep going? I feel awful about today and have such dread about all that I have to do tomorrow 😭 I’m in a new practice area and am super grateful for the work, but the learning curve is hard and I’m struggling!
