Why are they the "black sheep?" Speaking as someone who is the "black sheep" of my family - sometimes the relationships don't need to be repaired. Context matters
My brother is a black sheep. There have been times where he pushed my parents away, but my parents have always shown up when he needs them...and I think he ultimately trusts them again after they've proven their unconditional love. I am the youngest in the family and know I romanticize it some, but after talking with him about it I really think he just needed to be shown that he would be loved no matter what choices he made ya know? I know that's not really an easy fix, but that's what worked for us. Just showing up again and again without judgement or agenda

I was the black sheep in college but I grew out of it.
It depends on what makes them the black sheep. I am the black sheep of my family, but I have a good relationship with my parents, because they accept who I am and that I don’t fit the perfect mold and expectations they had for my life. I think fixing the relationship would require looking at what caused the problem in the first place.
