Talk to your dr about moving up to mirena. Kyleena is like the little sister to mirena and has less hormones. That small difference might help get rid of your period completely. Cooper IUDs tend to have the opposite effect. Also, check this board. Lots of IUD talk in here!
Been on Mirena 2 and a bit years and haven’t bled in 2 and a bit years. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I had Mirena 2x, and got pregnant within 2 months of getting it removed each time. Fully endorse!
I have Kyleena and still get my period 🙄 but my sister who’s an OBGYN +some friends have said the Mirena does a better job at stopping it!
I've had Kyleena for almost a year and my periods are still so unpredictable. They got super light the first few months, but the last couple months, I've have my period for a week followed by breakthrough bleeding for a week. Ugh.
On my 2nd Mirena and love it. Insertion is painful but worth it for multiple years of no bleeding. 🙌
Chief
Mirena, haven’t bled or cramped in a decade. If you have other PMS or PMDD issues tho, be aware it can make you feel like you’re going nuts bc you have no physical signs to help you be like “Oh, I’m anxious for an actual reason”
I had mirena 6 years, no periods. Was great!! But for what it's worth, I'm going through freezing my eggs right now and my amh levels are super low. Doctors have said there's no evidence that mirena impacts that, but something to ask about going into getting a different iud.
I have Kyleena and I've only ever had 1 period since I got it inserted 6 months ago! But my periods have always been light, so my OB said that's a contributing factor as to whether or not it'll stop completely. I will say, if you're considering switching to Mirena JUST to get rid of your period then please reconsider lol. Everyone says the pain of removal is one of the worst experiences ever.
Switching it up from the Mirena talk, I have Liletta and I’ve had my period ~2 times in going on four years
I've had Kyleena for 3.5 years and my periods have just started to get so light i barely know i have them (i get cramps before and during and get pms boobs). before that i had my period pretty regularly
I have Mirena (second time. Got the first replaced after 6 years) and no periods here! The last year, I experienced sporadic spotting, but other than that - period free!
Also team Mirena. I’ve had mine for 5 years. No full-on periods since, and I’ve maybe spotted a handful of times.
I have had Mirena for 3 years and haven’t gotten my period once in that time. I’m done having kids (I have 3) so this is like bliss for me!
