Listen intently and encourage people to talk. Dont get overly comfortable or reveal too much about yourself until you fully get to know the person you’re talking to. Pay attention to subtleties

Thank you for the advice!

Listen twice as much as you speak. Pay attention to body language- people rolling their eyes, leaning in when someone’s talking, etc Identify how different people are influenced by. Some will be data-driven, some will be relationship-driven, and some might be something else.

Thank you so much!

Just went to spin class at the Equinox for the first time since they shut the doors on 3/16 - feel almost normal again - if social distancing and wearing a mask at a gym is now “normal”.

Has anyone ever worked for OR Media? London site. I just turned down an interview with them cause I my happiness is more important then money. But what is it like?

Pardon my vent! Met my husbands family after 2 long years and they met my 15 mo for the first time! The whole time they kept asking me how long did I breastfeed? What food do I give the kid? What does he eat at daycare etc? My kid is at 38 percentile weight wise and I know he has lost a bit of weight last few weeks but that’s mainly because we are on a vacation and he is active as hell! This is my husbands side family who are based in another country and don’t really understand the daycare. Cont

Billable Juniors- what’s your schedule like? Anyone else get in hours before the partner to get some things done and billed before they interrupt you? Or is that just me?

Creative 🐠🐠🐠, what’s your biggest pain point working with Strategy? How can we do better?

Hi friends. I am losing my mind. 7 months pregnant and just want to run away to a foreign country. Cannot seem to stop being beyond infuriated at my partner who I love and who loves me. The issue is … everything else. I want him to plan a wknd away. To finish his current project which has had “one day of work” for the last quarter. To not need me to break out every single freaking thing into the tiniest potential tasks with the highest amount of detail

Just moved back and don’t know anyone need hangout and travel buddies. Who’s in?

Hi ladies! Going through some personal major transitions and would love some inspiration. What is a time in your life where you went through a situation that was initially difficult (layoff, breakup, moving, etc) and you ended up using it to make yourself and/or your life even better? Anything and everything counts: found a new job with better pay or wlb, met your life partner, got into the best shape of your life, etc! Please brag!

Feel that after doing the legwork and research on a business development opportunity, direct management is now edging my contributions out as they go to senior leadership. The thing is, as an experienced hire, I have as much if not more knowledge in this subject area? Any ideas how to handle it?

I have recently received an offer from Infosys for 7LPA for senior systems engineer post with an option for permanent WFH. I have experience in UI and LAMP stack. Is it a fair package as I was in a startup before with 5 LPA and 3 years experience in Web development.

I know there have been questions asked about laptop bags (for men), but specifically wanting something relatively nice (up to $200 if worth it) and spacious so it can hold a fair amt of stuff...recs?

Please help me understand something. I see posts where someone junior is offered a much more senior role, without experience. I don’t understand how an individual can be successful in a role that is often 2+ levels above their current one. And how does an employer offer such a role to someone without any experience at near that level? Example: “I’m a Sr. Analyst with 3 YOE and been offered a Director’s role at XYZ”. Never managed a team, much less an entire project or group. What am I missing?

What are some of the best benefits you've seen across companies?

Hey all - I currently work as PM at a NY agency. However, I went to school in Boston and my partner is from the North Shore. We’re thinking about making the move back to Boston early next year. Does anyone have an insight into the ad industry in Boston? What’s it like? Are agencies hiring? How’s the culture? If anyone has worked in NY as well I’d love to hear about how the two cities are different from an ad industry perspective.
