What are the key components of your performance review process? The data points we currently use are manager and self scoring of a scorecard for each employee (scorecard outlines mission for the position, outcomes, and competencies) as well as peer feedback based on the competencies of the position (thought being a manager only has so much insight to a person’s day to day, especially in a matrix org). Does anyone have any resources on leadership soft skills (ie - managing change, conflict mgmt, and giving feedback)? I’m trying to search for a facilitator’s workshop kit that is already built out and a facilitator can pick up and start teaching the course with the facilitator’s guide, presentation, and activities. Also, I would hope we can use the material and rebrand into our organization’s leadership development program.

Any suggestions on how to continue helping a new employee in our dept when they do not take notes? I am always willing to help, but it is becoming frustrating to constantly go over the same thing. I have expressed that because our dept does so many things that it is good to take notes over the things we are going over. When our MGR was out of town I spent a large amount of time being patient and helping her all throughout the day. It is now taking time from the task that I need to work on.

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I just started at my company as an HR Manager, I report to the Dir. Of Operations. I have my first investigation and it appears that a Manager that also reports to the Dir. Of Ops will be the subject of the investigation. I want to confirm that the Dir. Of Ops should not be included in this investigation at all until my investigation is complete and an outcome is determined, correct?
