I am a Principal Solutions Architect with 13 YOE of which 5 years exp is with Biotech focusing on Public Cloud (AWS) & overall AWS exp. 9 years. I need suggestions /opinions if applying for a Senior Solutions Architect (Level6) at AWS makes sense or if I should aim for a Principal SA (level 7) role at AWS with Healthcare & Lifesciences industry experience. If it makes any difference, I worked for AWS ProServe as an external SA in the past. Any insights / feedback appreciated.

You can definitely send your book to them directly. That's basically how it works. Send it before you move and then suggest a meeting for when you've arrived. Americans have usually a good reputation.
Salaries are lower but Sweden is cheaper and most things like healthcare, schools, 401K are completely free. Less expenses.
And 5 weeks vacation is standard (most people get more). As is 6-12 months maternity/paternity leave.
Rent is cheaper but Stockholm is very tricky since there basically are no apartments to rent. Everyone buys. Subletting is the only other option. Which can be a bit expensive if you want to live in the center of town.
Good luck!
Yes. The agencies are generally very small. 150 people is a big agency in Sweden. It's a little tricky if you don't know Swedish even though everyone understands and speak English. Any questions in particular? Any agencies in particular?
I’m interested in NordDDB, A.H, JvM & Ogilvy/Grey. Agencies w global clients. I do not speak Swedish but have a live/work visa if that helps in my favor. I guess I’m interested in knowing more on the applying process (LinkedIn doesn’t seem to be as helpful in finding people to shoot my book to as the states). Are their headhunters that specialize in the Swedish market?
There are a few head hunters but it's not that common in Sweden. It's all about recommendations and knowing people. Are you creative? Account?
You need to approach someone at the actual agency (CD/CEO/MD) and go from there. Most agencies have a very flat structure (CD is the highest creative title in most agencies and there are often just one or two of them) so you might need to change your title, same for salary. 2-3 times lower salaries over there.
Hiarchy doesn't really exist and team work is key. Client budgets are very small compared, $100K is a big budget in Sweden. But high creative work and miles ahead on digital and innovation work.
I would recommend NordDDB, NOA (network) and Forsman & Bodenfors.
Anything else?
Ingo (Grey/Ogilvy) are good as well. ÅkestamHolst is a part of NOA.
I’m a sr art director. Is it worth sending my book a few months before I officially move or will it look like I’m not serious and I should wait until I’m there? I’ve been contacting some cd’s on LinkedIn but didn’t know if it was good practice to email them directly. Are Americans looked at favorably? Like in terms of hard workers or some other trait. Unfortunately none of my friends there work in advertising. Thx for your help and on NOA. Good one. I kinda expected to make less than NY but 2-3 times less seems brutal. At least rent is cheaper

I wonder how these replies compare to life in Amsterdam...
Mathias@trib is probably the best headhunter to talk to.
