C at Gartner consulting.
1. WLB is great (less so recently with high demand + staff shortage but still 40-50hr weeks)
2. Access to leading research and massive database that is Gartner Research, plus access to the expert analysts that create it and are often advising C suites
I can add some cons:
1. Things are pretty unstandardized leading to inconsistent deliverable quality and lack of consulting-specific shared resources
2. Being a smaller arm of Gartner (R+A is much bigger) comes with pros (WLB, good culture) and cons (get less attention, investment, and lower priority from leadership)
Very good opportunity for more junior associates to get exposure and face time with senior client stakeholders.
Most projects tend to be delivered by somewhat smaller teams (2-3 people) plus SMEs and thus more opportunity to own significant chunks of delivery.
Very clear split on the career partner tracks with differentiation between managing partners (sales-focused account managers) and expert partners who act as SMEs and thought leaders for specific topic areas.
On the downside, some processes are not yet extremely formalised and relationships still help in getting ahead internally when it comes to promotions, etc.
