Anyone have any experience with marking yourself as "Showing recruiters you're open for work" while still employed at a Big 4? How did it work out?

I am curious to what is out there/who would want to bring me on... But I'm worried someone from my firm would see I was trying to leave. (Surely the company's recruiter that I work for could see this, right.)

I have turned it on and off over the past few years and no body said anything. No one cares because most of the folks know that a good majority are looking forward to a good opportunity.

Isn’t it pretty much expected that everyone is always looking?

What accountant at a Big 4 is not looking? Only the bottom barrel people who know they can't exit are not at least poking around to see what is out there.

Currently have the FRM title.
I failed CFA level 3 once.

I'm hoping to eventually do CAIA, but only after I'm done with CFA. I'm also hoping to do non-financial certifications, like Certified analytics professional (CAP), and learn about web development.

While I may have the title of manager, I am still an individual contributor. The type of work I do involves quantitative analysis/data analysis/science.

Any suggestions as to what I should start with?

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

I got lucky and now have leadership that seems to care about my career growth, but I'm 1. a little overwhelmed taking over a new role from someone who went on parental leave earlier than expected and 2. not used to thinking outside my day to day job, happy to keep my head down and just produce good work.

most of what I bring up in these meetings are logistical or prioritization concerns but I feel like my manager is expecting a lot more from me.

I’ve been at my job for a little over 5 months and I’m realizing it’s not really the best fit (mainly the product and culture). What is the minimum time you’d say you need to stay at a job for it to not negatively impact your resume? I was really hoping to stick around for at least a year and feel guilty, but not sure it’s worth the overall sacrifice.

After my first FET with a PGT tested embryo my HCG was 145 (8 days post transfer); one week later my HCG dropped to 31. My RE mentioned there is no hope and we will move on to additional testing before going into the next transfer cycle. Is there indeed no hope for the HCG to increase at this stage? What tests did your RE conduct after a failed FET. The embryo did implant, but did not develop.

I want to do FP&A. I’m a senior II and recruiters have told me it’s tough to get into with only Big4 experience. Is this true? Do you suggest doing more of a senior acct role then internal transfer?

Currently a senior in financial services audit for wealth and asset management. I’m going crazy in Audit, I’m an A2. I think I’m going to try and transition to consulting. Would it be smarter to stay within the firm or go to a new one, and is there a half-step I should take (such as going to TAS for a year or so) before going into consulting? I just want more exposure to companies I work on than just the audit, it doesn’t feel like stuff I’ll be using in 5 years (but I’d be happy to be proven wrong on that). Business strategy/biz dev is catching my interest recently.
