Anyone have any experience with part-time (80%) consulting roles? How did that work out? Is it even possible/realistic to work 80% (Mon-Thurs) in a consulting role?

So instead of working 80 hours per week, you’ll only work 64? Sounds great to me...

I know of a few who are part-time but that also means a payroll adjustment to reflect being part time. Basically the few who do this do not work on Fridays - which means razor thin firm contributions, resulting in a more “average” year end rating and reduced/no bonus relative to peers

I know many who are one flexible work arrangements due to personal or other issues. Your pay will be adjusted but you will have 1-2 days off each week depending on your arrangement

Hello All, Office Sup. for a major hospital, w/ 15 years experience. I have lots of experience in every position in the office, especially in training. I recently applied for an EPIC trainer position within the company and according to Glassdoor the average pay is about 23k more than what I currently make. I’m afraid of getting a lowball offer since 1. they obviously know my current salary and 2. I’d be new at this particular role, although I meet qualifications. Any advice if that’s the case?

My current role started out as a way to increase my skills, but for the past year the majority of what I’ve done is transcribing data between systems, which is one of the things I’m very bad at. My brain switches letters/numbers. With some recent changes, all other responsibilities were removed. I had a good reputation in the company before this, but now every day I feel like a failure because I keep making mistakes.

How do you not care / stress way too much about your job? I am a mom and stressed out most workday evenings thinking about the work / interactions during the day. I have heard TEd talks about compartmentalizing job vs personal life , mindfulness etc , but I don’t change. I could literally leave my job & focus on kids alone & be fine as husband is in a executive position. Yet, it’s my own career focus & my self induced stress and pressure that takes a toll on me. What’s your advice for me?

As a hiring manager (for interns), would you find it weird if your incoming intern asked specific questions about dress code? He just sent a bunch of info regarding the first day and I’m thinking of replying asking about if a tie is a must or not. Interviews were through teams so haven’t had the chance to see how people dress.

It’s been really hard to keep my head up after what feels like endless rejection. Received a no today about position I really wanted. The interviews felt so genuine and I was even told I’d be a good fit. Ultimately it just seems that my experience isn’t translating, which really sucks when you feel stuck in your current role and want to make a transition. I’m so eager to keep learning. Would love to connect with any brand/account directors to get some advice.
