Why are HR people so rude! Get a life guys!
Gave interview at Microsoft back in June for a SWE role. Cleared all 4 rounds and got verbal confirmation, documentation mail etc but after that they just vanished. Recruiter never picked up calls and no response from them.
Has anybody had a similar experience like mine even at FAANG level companies?

Sorry not personally, but you can read reviews on Glassdoor. I usually check there first then ask more specific questions here
I’m still at USI and from my personal experience, USI pays better than a few smaller brokers, but definitely not the most that you could have the potential for. If you’re looking to be an analyst, they’re spread pretty thin usually… but this might vary depending on the region you’re in. Ask them about workload! Try to leverage as much as you can when negotiating your salary as well.
What I loved about working with USI is that I had a flexible schedule and great coworkers, but I eventually felt like I had reached as far as I could go there and felt like I had to look for other opportunities to stay engaged in this kind of work. Fortunately, I found a job with supportive management and more of a chance to grow.
We’re you able to grow/move up at all while you were there? Or were you only in one position there and they wouldn’t move you up? They mentioned they support you towards applicable designations or certifications - will pay for it and give you the time to study, etc.
From what I've heard, they really value and invest in their employees, which is more than I can say for many of the other insurance companies out there. For that alone, I'd probably make the leap.
USI was a good company to work for. They have good procedures and the staff have been in the industry for a long, long, time so you will learn from people with many years of experience. The opportunity for growth (for the average Joe) is better than at most companies, but not the best. You will learn software and systems that will easily transfer to other companies. Each office has a different culture. Because they acquired so many offices over the last few years it’s hard to say if the office culture I experienced will be the same for you but they try to instill a company culture, but it’s just hard to make it cohesive when there are so many silos due to all the acquisitions. Maybe it will work for you!
Thanks! I’m looking at a hybrid position with a Long Island, ny office or a fully remote position with the Chicago office. What was the culture like for you? What culture did you feel they were trying to instill company wide?
I applied in USI last year because I heard lots of positive feedbacks. My peers were also saying good things. But I chose the other company since my application with USI took longer than expected. But you should give it a try! :)
