Anyone have any good resources for state charts showing the pass through entity tax by state?

I usually run the RNA or CCH smart charts which help. You usually have to do a bit more research and learn the forms but it helps indicate the states you need to focus on.

The one called “PTET: They’re all different and that’s the problem” or something along those lines? It is long but very educational

COST had a good one, but with the speed at which they’re passing, it’s hard to keep anything up to date. Deloitte has an internal one that our WNT is tracking updates for us.

I'd start with CCH smart chart and go from there

If your firm has access to Bloomberg Tax, they have a pretty informative chart

I’m really happy being gf&bf with my significant other - I’m 41 and I don’t want kids and I am not desperately seeking marriage. I’m really happy with just this & my job. I think it weirds his immigrant family out a lot. His mother apparently was very cold/rude to his ex-gf (I found this out bc I asked) and his sister is very cold and has a very judgmental attitude about women that don’t wanna be a wife & have kids (just like her.) I wanna avoid holidays at their place - any advice?

Is it me or does the newer generation value more intangible things that aren’t easily measured like work-life balance, fulfillment and purpose in work. Which makes it difficult for firms because that’s not something that is easily measured. Also, this is why there is “value” in crypto, NFTs and the metaverse. It’s a clash of the generations that value tangible things like money, houses, cars and one that values time, experiences, personal online image. Thoughts?

How does one find direction in what they want to do in life? I don’t find my job as a tax manager fulfilling and my busy time conflicts with some of my favorite hobbies, skiing and snowmobiling. I find it hard to determine my next step because I’m all about relationships, love my clients and am a sales/big picture thinker, so naturally industry doesn’t interest me. I’ve been super lost for a few years and think I need to act on my unhappiness and get out while I’m young. Any advice?

I work at a b4, I got a job offer from amidsize Promotion and going from 120-140. Should I take it? It would be a new start, and they mentioned less hours. The only issue I am thinking about is not having July and December weeks off. Otherwise the benefits are the same.

I just found out that my CPA failed to file my returns and submit payment on time even though they confirmed on the 18th that it was going to be filed that day. I do corporate taxes and have extremely limited experience in personal taxes. What should I be concerned about here other than the penalty and late fees for their negligence?

It seems like everyone is in agreement that switching firms gives you a salary boost, but that you could be viewed as someone that doesn’t stick around. Has anyone felt like they got held back from jumping firms every 2-3 years for the salary bump? I know peers that bounced around 2-4 times in a 7 year span and they are making significantly more money than if they stayed at their first job, however it didn’t seem like any of the new companies cared that they bounced around. Other experiences?
