Ask A Legal Recruiter

Anyone have any info or thoughts on working as a Salaried Professional Attorney Consultant for Robert Half?

Personal opinion based on experience ... more than one recruiter has sent me for a job I was not qualified for based on experience but told me to lie during the interview in order to considered. I either canceled the interview or flat out did NOT lie. I want nothing to ever do with Robert Half again.

Brilliant or terrible idea- a company where you could send your product and they create a bunch of little sample sized packets that you can then toss in your travel bag/purse etc. Does this already 🤔

I have a case study / model test coming up with a PE firm, but nobody has told me the format. Would it be rude to reach out and ask the format of the case study, or should I have asked already?

Hey guys. So I have been in financial due diligence (FDD) for some time now. Focus mainly in healthcare manufacturing and providers. I received a note from a recruiter about a business development & strategy position at a healthcare product manufacturer (surgical tools and such). I’m comfortable with a role like this on the M&A front, but I guess I’d be concerned on strategy formulation? I do think the skills in buy side FDD can translate well into a strategy role. What do you guys think?

How much do internal consultants (industry internal consultants that is) make in BASE salary? Manager or senior manager level? My current base is $200K. What’s a reasonable ask for base?

I've often heard about the 1/3 rule when it comes to associate comp (you should be making about 1/3 of what you're bringing in). How big of a gap would you expect an associate to tolerate before asking for a change in comp? I'm on track for about a $75,000 gap between 1/3 of my collections and my comp. My firm is technically not lock step but does seem to be defacto lock step. I lateraled April of 2019 from a boutique so I'm unsure how this is generally handled.

Had the catalytic converter stolen from my Toyota Prius during the day in a parking lot. The tow truck operator said it was the 6th Prius he had towed that day for that reason. PSA - if you own one, have the catalytic converter shield installed asap!
