I did a consulting project with them for the past year and here’s what I observed: people show up around 10am and leave at 4pm, most are happy to just come to work and go home, their project management processes are almost nonexistent, in the summer they have happy hours on the rooftop every Thursday, McD likes to hire a team from every consulting firm to “keep things competitive”, it’s basically like working at a large bureaucracy..... pros include location and low stress job and brand recognition, cons include slow 9-4 job and no stimulating work
As A1 said very little travel. They take care of their people, but it is a F500 corporation. A lot of 9-5 people who are happy to sit where they are. The move downtown changed some of this, but I suspect only temporarily. I do think their culture is overall pretty positive and they are reasonably progressive for a F500 company. Note that I work primarily with business, not IT
Thanks for the insight P1. That all seems pretty in line with what I’m looking for so I appreciate it. Looking for some more stability/less travel.
Would like to follow up on this! Does it feel like unreasonably heavy hours for less pay, or something different? Thanks!
I have never gotten the sense the people I interact with feel overworked.
The interview process is scattered as took me 4 months before final on site interview. My impression is it’s like working at a start up. Basically it’s 50% new hires and 50% people been there with history. The building is cool, but I was disappointed in the interview and process so that turned me off big time. Good news is most of their jobs not require a ton of travel. Good luck
Thank you!
