Anyone have any insight into whether Polsinelli is going to make ANY move to raise in response to all these other raises?

Following cause I think we have the same employer

I was there as a junior billed around 1900 a year. Left for a market paying position

Polsinelli is “near market”. They work associates to death in smaller markets like Kansas City for “market” compared to other firms in the area (start at like 135k). Can work at another firm for the same pay and have to bill 300 less hours.

Polsinelli announced tonight that starting in fall 2022 they are going to $170-$200 for first years, depending on market. $170 in KC/STL/etc. $200 in LA, Chi, etc.

Curious if anyone has heard any updates on Polsinelli? I’ve been considering lateraling but it would be a paycut.

I feel like we...err...they...are thinking the mid year bonus was enough to keep people happy.

HA. Other firms are raising by $75k and giving $50k mid year bonuses. If they think that tiny midyear bonuses to “on track” associates without warning anyone they needed to be “on track” until after the fact will keep people from hopping, they’re sadly mistaken.

Questions about Polsinelli comp and economics generally. What do you .. er they pay first years and what’s their billing rate? What your mean and median billable production for last year? And what does a first year partner make?

Following because I am curious as well

Anyone else feel like their actual work is very disconnected from their paycheck? If I do a great job and create a ton of value for the client I’ll get a maximum of a 15% TC increase YOY (much less due to covid). Similarly if I do the absolute minimum it’s really hard to be fired since I’m in a hot market and they can’t decrease my TC without cutting my base pay (which I’m 99% sure they won’t do). And my raise/bonus won’t even necessarily be indicative of my performance anyways.

Bit of a unique situation. I think my offices FDD team is falling apart. Since covid, 1/1 partner resigned , 2/3 of SM quit, 2/2 managers quit. I’m a bit concerned with deal flow moving forward. What would you do in this situation? Should I try to jump to another firm? Maybe ask for a raise? Honestly I am getting pretty crispy mental health wise

Has an offer to join a smaller but growing firm. Will get a decent raise, but I'm concerned about the lack of delivery capability. Seems like the expectation is they want you to be able to do it all, and they brand and technical breadth is not as established. Looks to me its high risk and the reward is just the raise they offer. Anyone has similar experience can share their experience?
