This group for consulting exit opportunities. My previous consulting job which was my first consulting job, I was laid off. Difficult times for me. Hope to find a new consulting job soon.

I’m looking to transition to an in-house role. I have a litigation/investigations/regulatory background and haven’t had much success anywhere, even with referrals. Has anyone used a recruiter who specializes in in-house placements? Wondering if I’m doing something wrong in my application or if I am applying for the wrong roles. Thanks!

If I accept the promotion to Partner/Principal what's the least number of years I could work without it being a financial mistake. I have an opportunity to do something completely unrelated that's my passion, but I feel like that's the wrong decision when I'm this close.

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? I’ve been with firms for 6 years. I struggle (not that I’m not intellectually capable of doing this job), I just hate the detail oriented nature of this industry. Everything gets scrutinized so carefully and most things I stayed up late for doesn’t matter.

Genuine question - why do people slide into DMs on here? Why would you spend time trying to get to know someone when there’s like a 1% chance you’re in the same geographical area and would have mutual interest in each other? Is it not better to spend your time on tinder or bumble to find people that are guaranteed to be nearby if you’re bored?
