Recently my boss made an odd comment about a client, stating she worked a lot because she is childless and didn’t have anything better to do. I’m also childless and my counterparts have children so this didn’t sit well.

What’s a must-read book for strategists?
Poll: Generally speaking, how much does your account person/team contribute to any given deck (strat, creative, whatever)? Are they putting in any intro slides or next steps? Trying to decide if I was just really lucky in my last place or unlucky in my current place.
Examples of founders/CEOs that were "bigger than their brand"? It could be to illustrate the positive or negative effects - doesn't matter. Looking for some less obvious examples than Elon and Tesla, Jobs and Apple. Thank you!

Now I’m a few years in and generally dislike my job because it’s schmoozing, pencil pushing, and not really producing. How can I make the pívot to strategy? Is a pívot even realistic? Should I just say fuck it and bear with things until going client side someday?

I get that we’re supposed to make meaning out of commodities and differentiate itself but man it’s just noise. The products and the brands don’t catch up with the insights. It is love we want; it is Calvin Klein Eternity we buy. How do y’all deal?
